UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mumbai today. The two leaders reaffirmed the importance of the India-UK trade deal, which Starmer described as a “launchpad” for two-way growth, noting that India is set to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2028. Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested G Ranganathan, owner of Tamil Nadu-based Sresan Pharmaceuticals, in connection with the deaths caused by adulterated cough syrup linked to the company’s Coldrif brand. Ahead of the Bihar elections, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has promised a government job for at least one member in every household if his party is voted to power. Meanwhile, Tata Consultancy Services reported a net profit of ₹12,075 crore for the second quarter of FY26, up 1.4% year-on-year. And finally, in a major breakthrough, Israel and Hamas have agreed to the first phase of a US-brokered peace plan announced by President Donald Trump.
