UK PM in India, cough syrup deaths case, Bihar elections, Israel-Hamas peace deal & more

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Mumbai today. The two leaders reaffirmed the importance of the India-UK trade deal, which Starmer described as a “launchpad” for two-way growth, noting that India is set to become the world’s third-largest economy by 2028.
Madhya Pradesh Police have arrested G Ranganathan, owner of Tamil Nadu-based Sresan Pharmaceuticals, in connection with the deaths caused by adulterated cough syrup linked to the company’s Coldrif brand.
