Ground report: Covid vaccine dilemma for healthcare workers

Like the rest of India, West Bengal too, is gearing up for the coronavirus vaccination drive. The first consignment of around 1 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine 'Covishield' arrived in Kolkata on Wednesday. Covaxin, the other vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech, is also said to be available. Medical and nursing staff, who are called the frontline workers, will be inoculated first. Although some are ready to get the shot, some say they are not ready for it over safety concerns. We spoke to many hospital staff, including doctors, nurses and Group-D employees at different Kolkata hospitals. While a majority voiced satisfaction at the drive, not all healthcare workers hold the same view. Watch the reporting from Ground Zero.

Farmers not ready to blink first, reject SC panel; gear up for R-Day march

Farmers protesting at Delhi borders said they will burn copies of Centre's new agriculture laws at all demonstration sites on the festival of Lohri on Wednesday, as a mark of protest against the legislations. This comes a day after the protesting farmer unions asserted they will not appear before the Supreme Court-appointed panel, alleging it was "pro-government", and said they won't settle for anything less than the repeal of the three contentious laws. The unions also raised doubts over the neutrality of the members of the committee even as they welcomed the top court's order to stay the implementation of the laws. Watch the video to know more.
