Ranchi (Jharkhand), Apr 07 (ANI): Local administration has banned the movement of persons and vehicles in Hindpiri area in Ranchi is for 72 hours after 2 positive cases of COVID-19 found in the area. A total of 4 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Jharkhand as of now. A nation-wide lockdown has been imposed till April 14.

Gramin Vikas Committee distributes masks to needy in HP's Kinnaur amid lockdown

Kinnaur (Himachal Pradesh), Apr 07 (ANI): Gramin Vikas Committee provided help to needy and poor people in Himachal Pradesh's Kinnaur district on April 06. They distributed cash of Rs 1500 to needy ones amid coronavirus lockdown. Gramin Vikas Committee members also distributed masks and sanitisers to villagers. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak. They also spread awareness among masses about COVID-19 outbreak. There are total 16 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Himachal Pradesh including 2 cured and 1 death. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 3981 in India and 114 deaths.

Warned Tablighi Jamaat attendees to surrender till Apr 08 or else will face legal action: Haryana Health Minister

Chandigarh, Apr 07 (ANI): Haryana administration warned Tablighi Jamaat attendees to surrender themselves till April 08 or else will face legal action. Speaking on it, Health Minister of Haryana, Anil Vij said, "We have traced around 1,526 Tablighis as of now. We have put all of them in quarantine and their tests are also underway. Some of them have been reported positive and their treatments are underway. We have given a warning for everyone else, who have attended Tablighi Jamaat, to surrender themselves In front of District Administration till April 08 at 5 pm and if they failed to do so, we will take suitable action against them under Disaster Management Act."

COVID-19: District administration provides eatables to needy in Coimbatore

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Apr 07 (ANI): Thousands of food packets were being prepared and served to needy people on behalf of district administration in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore on April 06 amid coronavirus lockdown. Several social activists are also engaged in serving food to needy and poor people. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak. There are total 584 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu including eight cured and five deaths. COVID-19 outbreak: Meerut admin installs body sanitization cabin at cantt area

Meerut (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 07 (ANI): Amid growing threat of coronavirus, Meerut administration installed complete body sanitization cabin at the cantonment area. The initiative has been taken to contain the spread of the virus and to ensure safety of the essential staff. The staff have to properly sanitize themselves in the cabin before entering to the cantonment area. The hand sanitizer is also put outside the cabin to ensure proper precautionary measure. A total of 305 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Uttar Pradesh as of now.

COVID-19 outbreak: Food and Civil Supplies Dept provides 2 months ration in JandK's Poonch

Poonch (JandK), Apr 07 (ANI): The Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs of Jammu and Kashmir provided two months ration in Poonch district amid coronavirus lockdown. The ration will be provided to around 1,12,107 families in Poonch district. More than 60,000 families have already been supplied two months ration and rest of the families will be given ration within a week. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak. There are total 115 confirmed cases of coronavirus in JandK including four cured and two deaths. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 3981 in India and 114 deaths.

Surat doctor allegedly threatened, abused by neighbours of spreading corona infection

Surat (Gujarat), Apr 07 (ANI): Amid growing threats of coronavirus, a doctor from Surat has faced alleged attack and verbal spat from her neighbours of spreading the virus. She had filed a complaint against her neighbours to the police. Speaking to ANI, the victim told, "My neighbours have told me told me that I shouldn't return home from hospital as I must've got infected with COVID-19. They verbally abused and threatened me. Police has extended their support to me. Due to COVID-19 crisis, there's lot of pressure at hospital."

Lioness gives birth to 3 cubs in Junagadh's Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden

Junagadh (Gujarat), Apr 07 (ANI): There is good news in Junagadh's world-famous Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden and Ambardi Safari Park. Three lionesses gave birth to around nine cubs in Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden and Ambardi Safari Park. A lioness D-3 gave birth to three cubs in Sakkarbaug Zoological Garden. The staff of zoological garden is monitoring them for 24 hours through CCTV surveillance system. The arrival of all cute cubs has given a wave of happiness to the wildlife lovers in Gujarat.

'Corona' sweets pop up at Kolkata confectionery to 'digest' the virus

Kolkata, Apr 07 (ANI): Even as the country has not reached midway in its fight against coronavirus, a sweet shop owner in Kolkata has come up with 'corona' sweets which look like the coronavirus to "uplift the spirit" of the people in these testing times. Cakes, cupcakes and other desserts were designed in shape of coronavirus, and according to the shop owner, the idea behind it was to tell people to fight and digest the virus and not vice versa. "Thousands of people are dying due to the coronavirus. It's a message to uplift the spirit of people that we will fight and digest corona and not vice versa," the shop owner said.

Higher dietary fibre intake in young women may reduce breast cancer risk: Study

New Delhi, Apr 07 (ANI): Young women who eat high-fibre foods in their adolescence, especially fruits and vegetables may have significantly lower breast cancer risk than those who eat less dietary fibre when young, suggested a recent study. The new large-scale study led by researchers at Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health was published online in the journal Pediatrics. Breast cancer risk was 12 per cent to 19 per cent lower among women who ate more dietary fibre in early adulthood, depending on how much more they ate. High intake of fibre during adolescence was also associated with 16 per cent lower risks of overall breast cancer and 24 per cent lower risk of breast cancer before menopause. Among all the women, there was a strong inverse association between fibre intake and breast cancer incidence.

Uber partners Flipkart to deliver essential supplies to customers

New Delhi, Apr 07(ANI): Uber announced that it is tying up with e-commerce giant Flipkart to provide delivery of essential supplies to customers during the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. In an official blog, Prabhjeet Singh, Director - Operations, and Head of Cities, Uber India and South Asia wrote that the company will facilitate the delivery of supplies to consumers across Delhi, Mumbai. The money earned through these deliveries will be given to the drivers. The latest effort follows Uber's similar initiatives with BigBasket and Spencer's Retail for the last-mile delivery service.
