New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices traded with a positive bias during early hours on Thursday as global markets swung higher with central banks offering interest rate cuts to stabilise economic outlook amid spreading coronavirus. At 10:15 am, the BSE S-P Sensex was up by 94 points to 38,503 while the Nifty 50 edged higher by 24 points at 11,275. Most sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the positive terrain with Nifty FMCG gaining by 1.6 per cent, IT by 1.04 per cent and pharma by 0.8 per cent. Among stocks, Hindustan Lever ticked up by 2.9 per cent at Rs 2,240 per share and Britannia by 2 per cent at Rs 3,127.20 apiece.
Jhunjhunu (Rajasthan), Mar 05 (ANI): Around fifteen Italian tourists in India have been reportedly tested positive for coronavirus which is the global health crisis. The District administration of Jhunjhunu in Rajasthan took samples of hotel employees where Italians tourists group were staying. 2-3 teams from Sawai Man Singh (SMS) Hospital of Jaipur came to conduct some test of tourists and hotel staff. They are also gathering information about all tourists staying in different hotels of Jhunjhunu.
New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): One of the videos of dreadful violence in Delhi's Northeast region is doing the rounds of social media. The video is said to be of February 24 when the communal clashes were on peak. The violence led to major loss of lives and property and at least 47 people died in the communal clashes. Speaking on it, ACP of Gokalpuri, Anuj Kumar, said, 'It happened after the rioters came on the roads of Wazirabad. Everyone in mob was a rioter and the crowd soon took the form of a riot.'
Gurugram (Haryana), Mar 05 (ANI): National Security Advisor, Ajit Doval attended '3rd Young Superintendents of Police Conference' in Gurugram where he said that if one fails to enforce laws, democracy fails with it. While addressing the young police officers at the event, Doval said, "Ballot box elects people for the legislature, not for the executives. They take executive functions but essentially, it is a legislative assembly or Parliament. It is for the legislative body and what is a legislative body? It makes law. So, Law making is the most sacrosanct job in the democracy. And you are the enforcers of that law. If you fail to enforce laws, democracy fails. A law is as good as it is executed on the ground."
Mumbai, Mar 05 (ANI): Bollywood singer Mohit Chauhan has dropped his new single 'Meethi Meethi Gallan' in collaboration with 'SpotLampE'. In an exclusive interview with ANI, Mohit said, "I had fun while recording the song 'Meethi Meethi Gallan'. So, I am hoping that listeners will enjoy this song." Speaking on role of digital medium for independent music, Chauhan said, "I feel in today's date and age, digital medium is very strong and because of it, it is not really hard for any artist to reach the audience. So, because of internet, the song reaches to the audience and if it is good, then it does not matter if it's a film song or a non-film song." Patna (Bihar), Mar 05 (ANI): After High-school teachers in Bihar joined the strike for salary-hike in solidarity with middle-school teachers in state, over 45,000 are being affected. Bihar Education Minister "When a strike takes place, a lot of things get affected. We are making alternative arrangements. It is a matter of concern. It is unfortunate that teachers decided to strike specially in a time when exams are being held. These are our teachers, we don't have any grudge against them. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken care of them."

Bulandshahr (UP), Mar 05 (ANI): Two men thrashed in Uttar Pradesh's Bulandshahr by some people. They also made a video of thrashing and posted it on social media. Police have lodged an FIR in regards to the matter and investigation is on. According to city SSP Santosh Kumar Singh, "It happened b/w 2 groups in Hamidpur village on 2nd March. FIR was registered. There are different versions of the incident. It's being investigated to know the actual reason behind the incident"
Murshidabad (WB), Mar 05 (ANI):A resident of Murshidabad's Ramnagar got an unpleasant surprise after he received his revised voter ID with a picture of a dog instead of his. Sunil Karmakar had applied for a correction in his voter ID. Karmakar said, "Y'day I was called at Dulal Smriti School and this voter ID was given to me. I saw the photo. The officer there, signed and gave it to me but he didn't see the photo. This is playing with my dignity. I will go to BDO office and request that this should not happen again." Rajarshi Chakraborty, BDO said, "It's not his final voter ID. If there is a mistake, it'll be corrected. As far as dog's photo is concerned, it might've been done by someone while filling online application. The photo has already been corrected. He'll get the final ID with correct photo."

Principal of Prathmik Vidyalay Chitaipur, Arvind Pal bought tablets for students in a bid to provide them digital learning tool. New Delhi, Mar 05 (ANI): After a successful run on social media platforms like Instagram and Twitter, the feature of dark mode has been now launched on the instant messaging platform WhatsApp. The mode turns the interface into a dark theme, making usage easy on the eyes. According to The Verge, the new feature in the WhatsApp has been launched after months of beta testing and will be functional on the applications in all iOS and Android mobile phones. The app will automatically switch over to the dark mode if the dark mode has been enabled in the mobile phones at the system level in the phones having either Android 10 or iOS 13. In mobile phones with Android 9, the new theme has to be enabled from the settings menu of the application. New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): After visiting a vandalised school in Brijpuri, Rahul Gandhi said the violence is of no benefit to 'Bharat Mata'. "This school is the future of Delhi. Hate and violence has destroyed it. This violence is of no benefit to Bharat Mata. Everybody has to work together and take India forward at this time," Rahul Gandhi further said. New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders visited violence-affected areas of North-East Delhi. Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and Randeep Singh Surjewala also joined the delegation. The leaders visited at several locations including Chand Bagh and New Mustafabad's Brijpuri area. Over 40 people lost their lives in Delhi violence. The violence broke out in national capital on February 23. However, on being asked about the visit, Congress leader K Suresh made a controversial statement by saying, "Congress MPs had so far not visited the riot-affected areas, but IUML and CPI-Left MPs had visited, so we were under tremendous pressure from our constituencies."
New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): Staying strong in the long ongoing struggle in 2012 gang rape case, Nirbhaya's mother Asha Devi thanked President of India for rejecting Pawan's mercy plea and hoped that the new date of death warrant for Nirbhaya's convicts will be the final one. "I thank President of India for rejecting the last mercy. We are now going to file application for a new death warrant. We hope the new date will be the last one and Nirbhaya will get the justice," said Asha Devi with hope. She added, "This has been delayed to such an extent that until the convicts are hanged, I won't be satisfied. I hope that the new date for death warrant that will be generated will be the final one".
New Delhi, Mar 04 (ANI): Non-resident Indian (NRI) can now acquire up to 100 per cent equity in Air India. While addressing the press conference after cabinet meeting, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting, Prakash Javadekar informed, "Regarding the strategic sale of Air India, now Non-resident Indian (NRI) can acquire 100% of stake in the airlines. Earlier it was 49%."
