Amroha (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 30 (ANI): Uttar Pradesh cabinet minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Chetan Chauhan distributed blankets among poor in UP's Amroha. Some of the beneficiaries claimed that they received torn blankets. Meanwhile, Chetan Chauhan claimed that the blankets were of good quality.

Kin file murder complaint against police for death during anti-CAA protest

Bijnor (Uttar Pradesh), Dec 30 (ANI): A murder complaint was filed against police by family of Suleiman, who died during protests against Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Police official said, "A case has already been registered by the police, so new FIR cannot be registered. Their complaint will be made a part of the investigation." Protest against Citizenship Amendment Act turned violent in Bijnor on December 20. The kin alleged that deceased was picked when they went out to pray, and was later shot by police.

30 trains delayed due to dense fog in Northern Railway region

New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): Several trains are running late after fog blankets northern India on December 30. Fog enveloped New Delhi railway station reducing visibility. The cold waves are expected to grip the national capital in next few days. 30 trains are running late due to low visibility in the Northern Railway region. Minimum temperature of 2.5 C was recorded in the national capital, on December 29.

NRC is a subset of NPR: Political Strategist Prashant Kishor

New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): In an interaction with ANI, political strategist Prashant Kishor said that National Register of Citizens (NRC) is a subset of National Population Register (NPR). He said, "Nobody needs to prove link between NPR and NRC, documents speak for themselves and they state that NPR is the first step of NRC. This debate is linked to Citizenship Amendment Bill of 2003 during which, it was defined that after NPR, if government wishes, they can do NRC. NRC is a subset of NPR. And the implementation is up to the government and it is a different thing."

Equity indices in the green, Nifty Bank hits fresh record high

New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): Equity benchmark indices were in the positive terrain during early hours on Monday tracking their Asian peers with easing of trade war worries and reduced uncertainty over the Brexit. At 10:15 am, the BSE S and P Sensex was up by 71 points to 41,646 while the Nifty 50 edged higher by 20 points at 12,266. Apart from Nifty metal and PSU bank, all sectoral indices at the National Stock Exchange were in the green. Nifty bank rose by 0.47 per cent to a fresh record high while Nifty auto ticked up by 0.63 per cent and FMCG by 0.5 per cent.

JD(U) opposes NRC, CAA: Prashant Kishor

New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): In an interaction with ANI, political strategist and Janata Dal United's Vice President Prashant Kishor said that party's stance on National Register of Citizens (NRC) and Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) is of opposition. He said, "I want to make it very clear that JD(U)'s stance on NRC and CAA is of opposition. Check parliamentary standing committee's record, first dissent note is of JD(U). Under what circumstances JD(U) supported the bill in both houses only Nitish Kumar can tell."

Dense fog affects flights operations at IGI airport

New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): As the national capital was engulfed in thick blanket of fog, flight operations were affected. Several flights were delayed due to cold wave. Normal operations were suspended due to low visibility at IGI airport. Minimum temperature was recorded at 3.4 C on December 29. On December 28, Indian Meteorological Department issued 'red' warning for Delhi. The red colour denotes extreme weather conditions.

According to tipster @OnLeaks, the high-end Galaxy S11 Plus version could feature a vertical rectangular camera module with rounded edges and comprise of four lenses and a flash. The image shared on Twitter appears to be a prototype design. It isn't clear if this would be the final Galaxy S11 Plus design when it launches in 2020.

Recommended physical activity related to reducing cancer risks

New Delhi, Dec 30 (ANI): A study of nine trials of 7,50,000 people showed a reduced risk of seven types of cancers with the amount of physical activity during leisure time. Many types of cancer have a relationship of 'dose/response' from the seven cancers identified in the report. The guidelines for activity stated that 2.5 to 5 hours of moderate-intensity workout in a week or 1.25 to 2.5 hours of vigorous activity is the ideal amount of physical activity for sustaining a healthy lifestyle.

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), Dec 30 (ANI): 'Night Walk' was organised by the Kerala government to mark Nirbhaya Day on 29 Dec. Hundreds of Local women took part in the 'Night Walk' organised by the state government. Women volunteer took night walks from 11pm to 1 am at 100 selected centres in the state on Dec 29.
