P Chidambaram is facing investigations by the ED and CBI in connection with the INX Media case. He is accused of misusing his position as India's finance minister to benefit INX Media.

Congress lawyers Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi are accompanying him. Heavy security has been deployed outside the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office. P Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI in the INX media scam case on August 21.

Kurukshetra (Haryana), Aug 22 (ANI): Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reached Kurukshetra amid his state tour 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' on August 22. Ahead of Haryana Assembly polls 2019, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar kicked off his 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' from Panchkula's Kalka on August 18. He is targeting to cover 90 assemblies of the state during his 22-day journey till September 8 to seek blessings from the people.

New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): Speaking to mediapersons, Activist Shehla Rashid on her remarks on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir said, "I will give the evidence when the Indian Army constitutes an inquiry, I will give the evidence then." "I have never met Peter Mukerjea, I have never met Indrani Mukerjea in my life. The only time, I have seen Indrani was when CBI took me to confront her. I have had no interaction with anyone directly or indirectly connected with their company."
New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, after CBI detained P Chidambaram in connection with INX media scam case, senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal said, "It's a matter of great concern to us as a members of legal fraternity, also it should be a matter of concern as citizens. All we wanted was a hearing, the presiding judge chose instead to say that I am sending the file to CJI. Isn't a citizen entitled to be heard?"
Panchkula (Haryana), Aug 22 (ANI): Former Haryana chief minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda arrived at CBI Special Court in Haryana's Panchkula on August 22. Hooda had appeared in CBI Court in connection with Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) land allotment case and Manesar land scam case. The case pertains to the alleged purchase of land from farmers in Gurgaon for Rs 100 crore, when the actual worth, as per market rate, was Rs 1,500 crore. The land was bought during the period between August 2004 and August 2007. The Congress government in Haryana, led by Hooda, remained in power from March 2005 to October 2014.

He said, "Over the last two days, India witnessed the broad daylight murder of democracy. Government is using CBI and ED as a personal revenge-seeking department for the party in power." Surjewala comments came after the former finance minister P Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI in the INX media scam case on August 21.

Singh said, "Chidambaran ji is a former Union Finance and Home Minister, he is an intellectual and knows the law very well, he should not have behaved like this after court's order. What happened was not good, had he surrendered earlier, his dignity would have remained intact."
