Congress workers protest against P Chidambaram's arrest

Coimbatore/ Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Bhopal (MP), Aug 22 (ANI): Congress workers protested in Tamil Nadu's Coimbatore and Chennai against the arrest of Congress Leader P Chidambaram by CBI. Congress workers protest outside CBI Office of Madhya Pradesh's Bhopal. Senior Congress leader and former Finance Minister P Chidambaram was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) last night. P Chidambaram is facing investigations by the ED and CBI in connection with the INX Media case. He is accused of misusing his position as India's finance minister to benefit INX Media.

P Chidambaram produced in CBI court

New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): Former finance minister and Congress leader P Chidambaram was brought to CBI court for hearing in INX Media Case in Delhi on August 22. Congress lawyers Kapil Sibal and Abhishek Manu Singhvi are accompanying him. Heavy security has been deployed outside the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office. P Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI in the INX media scam case on August 21.

Indore (MP), Aug 22 (ANI): Showing their devotional side, prisoners of Madhya Pradesh's Indore jail made Lord Ganesha idols. Using clay and vibrant colors, prisoners made the idols, a month prior to Ganesha Chaturthi. The festival marks the birth of Lord Ganesha and falls in the month of August or September. Ganesha Chaturthi is a prime festival of Marathi people.

Kurukshetra (Haryana), Aug 22 (ANI): Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar reached Kurukshetra amid his state tour 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' on August 22. Ahead of Haryana Assembly polls 2019, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar kicked off his 'Jan Ashirwad Yatra' from Panchkula's Kalka on August 18. He is targeting to cover 90 assemblies of the state during his 22-day journey till September 8 to seek blessings from the people.

DMK, politicos protest at Jantar Mantar demanding release of leaders detained in J-K

New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) led all-party demonstration at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on August 22. They were demanding the "release of leaders detained in Jammu - Kashmir". Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad, RJD leader Manoj Jha also participated in the protest. CPI (M) leaders Sitaram Yechury and Brinda Karat, and Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Ram Gopal Yadav were also present.

Will give evidence when Indian Army constitutes inquiry: Shehla Rashid on her remarks on J-K's situation

Earlier, Rashid alleged in a tweet that Indian Army tortured four men in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Raj Thackeray leaves for ED office in Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 22 (ANI): Maharashtra NavNirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray left for Enforcement Directorate's office from his residence in Mumbai on August 22. He was summoned by the Enforcement Directorate to appear before the agency, today. Raj Thackeray was allegedly involved in connection with its probe in IL-FS case.

INX media scam: 'I have never met Indrani, Peter Mukerjea in my life', says Karti Chidambaram

New Delhi, Aug 22 (ANI): Karti Chidambaram arrived at Delhi Airport from Chennai on August 22. His father P Chidambaram was arrested by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on Aug 21. "I have never met Peter Mukerjea, I have never met Indrani Mukerjea in my life. The only time, I have seen Indrani was when CBI took me to confront her. I have had no interaction with anyone directly or indirectly connected with their company."

Panchkula (Haryana), Aug 22 (ANI): Former Haryana chief minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda arrived at CBI Special Court in Haryana's Panchkula on August 22. Hooda had appeared in CBI Court in connection with Associated Journals Ltd (AJL) land allotment case and Manesar land scam case. The case pertains to the alleged purchase of land from farmers in Gurgaon for Rs 100 crore, when the actual worth, as per market rate, was Rs 1,500 crore. The land was bought during the period between August 2004 and August 2007. The Congress government in Haryana, led by Hooda, remained in power from March 2005 to October 2014.

Govt using CBI, ED as "personal revenge-seeking departments": Congress on Chidambaram's arrest

World's biggest Amazon campus opens in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, Aug 22 (ANI): Amazon launched its biggest campus in the world in Hyderabad on August 21. Amazon campus was inaugurated by Home Minister Mahmood Ali. Amazon's new campus building, located in Hyderabad's financial district near Hi-Tech city. The new campus is the only one owned by Amazon outside the US and will house more than 15,000 employees.
