Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), May 17 (ANI): Teachers are checking board examination answer sheets in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj amid COVID-19 outbreak. They are following guidelines of social distancing while evaluating copies in the school. The school was also sanitized by spraying disinfectants keeping in mind the hygiene factor. The evaluation of answer sheets got delayed after the coronavirus pandemic hit across the globe. There are total 4057 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Uttar Pradesh. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 51,401 with 2649 deaths in India.
Surat (Gujarat), May 17 (ANI): A group of migrant workers was seen walking on foot in Gujarat's Surat amid coronavirus pandemic. They were walking towards their homes amid lockdown 3.0. Migrant workers were walking despite harsh summer in order to reach to their native places. While speaking to ANI, one of the migrant workers said, "I am from Sitamarhi district in Bihar. We don't have anything to eat, so we decided to go to our villages, at least we have a home there." There are total 9931 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Gujarat. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 53,035 with 2752 deaths in India.
East Godavari (Andhra Pradesh), May 17 (ANI): The gas pipeline of Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) plugged a minor leakage in Andhra Pradesh's East Godavari district on May 16. The incident took place in Turpupalem Village of Malikipuram town in East Godavari district. Locals immediately informed the police and ONGC officials about the gas leakage. Malikipuram Sub Inspector Nagaraju told ANI, "The gas leak started at around 06:00 pm. ONGC technicians rushed to the spot and closed down all the wells immediately. After that, they brought the situation under control by reducing pressure. 95% of leakage is prevented. But sporadic leaks are occurring. Overall situation is under control. Technicians are still at work. Cause of leakage is not known yet."
New Delhi, May 17 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in the national capital on May 16, the Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Dharmendra Pradhan spoke on economic relief package. He said, "A long term policy reform has been made in coal sector to ensure that coal is available at cheaper rates and there is more production. Private sector has been allowed to enter coal sector. Both public and private sectors will work towards production of coal."
Ramban (JandK), May 17 (ANI): A man died and two got injured after landslide occurred at Jammu-Srinagar National Highway-44 on May 16. Around six vehicles were buried under massive landslide in Seri village of JandK's Ramban district. The injured were admitted in District Hospital of Ramban for medical treatment. According to police sources, the dead man was identified as 52-year-old, Banarasi Lal. He was taken out from debris in an unconscious condition by the volunteers of Quick Response Team (QRT).
New Delhi, May 17 (ANI): In order to curb bullying on its platform, Instagram has decided to roll out some new features. The users will now be able to delete negative comments in bulk and the users will also be able to block or restrict multiple accounts, Mashable reported. iOS users can turn on the feature by tapping on the comment and then clicking on the dotted icon placed in the top right corner. After that, the iOS users will need to select the Manage Comments option and they can select upto 25 comments to delete simultaneously. In order to curb bullying, Instagram is also rolling out some controls to manage the tags and mentions a user receives on the platform.

Mumbai, May 17 (ANI): The state government of Maharashtra has arranged facility of buses for migrant workers in Mumbai amid coronavirus pandemic. Around 20 buses are going daily to drop these workers till borders of Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka. The facility of buses got started from May 11. The Maharashtra government is providing bus facility free of cost to all the migrant workers. While speaking to ANI, the police official said, "We don't take any payment for this transportation and it is totally free of cost." Raipur (Chhattisgarh), May 17 (ANI): While speaking to ANI amid coronavirus pandemic on May 16, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel spoke on Union Railways Minister Piyush Goyal's statement. He said, "Yesterday, he (Railways Minister Piyush Goyal) said that Chhattisgarh has demanded only 10 trains, this turned out to be a lie. We had demanded for 30 trains, nine of which have already reached Chhattisgarh. We have no pending permission or consent for any train." "Consent has to be sought from both states-one sending the train and one receiving it. UP, JandK and Karnataka haven't given us their consent yet. Whose government is in all these states? It's neither the time to do politics nor to give a challenge. It is time to fight coronavirus together," Chhattisgarh CM added.

Guwahati (Assam), May 17 (ANI): A special train carrying passengers from New Delhi Railway Station has reached Guwahati Railway Station on May 16 amid coronavirus pandemic. The special train is enroute to Dibrugarh. All passengers were screened on their arrival at the railway station, as per government guidelines. Indian Railways has resumed services of special air-conditioned trains from May 12 amid lockdown 3.0. New Delhi, May 16 (ANI): Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam announced easing of restrictions on utilisation of Indian airspace while addressing the media on fourth tranche of Rs 20 lakh crore stimulus package. "Restrictions on the utilisation of Indian airspace will be eased so that civilian flying becomes more efficient," said Nirmala Sitharaman. "Airports Authority of India has awarded 3 airports out of 6 bid for operation and maintenance on Public-Private Partnership (PPP) basis. Additional investment by private players in 12 airports in first and second rounds expected around Rs 13,000 crores," Finance Minister further said.

New Delhi, May 16 (ANI): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on May 16 interacted with migrant labourers and arranged vehicle for around 25 migrant workers in New Delhi. Congress volunteers are going to drop migrant workers to their homes. "Rahul Gandhi came and met us half an hour back. He booked the vehicle for us and said the cab will drop us to our homes. He gave us food, water and mask," said Devendra, a migrant labourer. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee, Chief Anil Chaudhary, "They were being detained, later, police allowed them to leave."
