COVID-19: Indore hospital health workers claim administration apathy in testing times

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), Apr 14 (ANI): Amid coronavirus outbreak, health workers of Manorama Raje TB Hospital in MP's Indore claimed of not getting proper facility despite one of their staff members getting coronavirus positive. They alleged that they are getting no clean rooms and no proper food. Few days back, one of Manorama Raje TB Hospital's staff also tested COVID-19 positive. One of the health workers said, "We are 30 people with 2 in each room. Our rooms don't get cleaned and sanitised. We don't get proper food." A total of 730 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported in Madhya Pradesh as of now.

Situation is peaceful: Mumbai Police after 1500 migrants gathered in Bandra over lockdown extension

Mumbai, Apr 14 (ANI): After around 1,500 people gathered at the Bandra Railway station and many of them turned violent, Public Relations Office (PRO) of Mumbai Police, Pranaya Ashok informed that the situation is normal and peaceful in that area.While speaking to ANI, Pranaya Ashok said, "Today at 4 pm, around 1500 people gathered at Bandra railway station premises. Many of them were migrant labourers. They were unhappy with the extension of the lockdown and wanted to go back to their homes. They had placed their demand before administration. Local Police officials went to the spot, talked to them and tried to convince them. During this, a section of the crowd turned violent so light force had to be used to bring them under control. Crowd was dispersed. Police is deployed there. Situation is normal and peaceful."

COVID-19: Indian Rapid Response Team shares experience with Kuwaiti personnel

Kuwait, Apr 14 (ANI): In wake of coronavirus outbreak, the Indian Rapid Response Team imparted training and shared its experience with the Kuwaiti personnel at Jaber Al Ahmad Hospital in Kuwait. They imparted training as a part of capacity building. A total of 1,355 positive cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Kuwait as of now.

COVID-19: 5.29 crore beneficiaries given free ration so far, says Finance Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in the national capital on April 14 amid coronavirus pandemic, the Additional DG (Media and Communications) in the Ministry of Finance and Corporate Affairs, Rajesh Malhotra said, "5.29 crore beneficiaries have been given free ration of food grains under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Ann Yojana (PMGKY)." "3,985 million tonnes of pulses have also been dispatched to various states and union territories for distribution," he added.

1,211 coronavirus cases in last 24 hours, total at 10,363: Health Ministry

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in the national capital on April 14 amid coronavirus pandemic, the Joint Secretary of Union Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal said, "Till now 1036 people have been cured. Yesterday, (April 13) 179 people were diagnosed and found cured. India reports 1,211 fresh cases of COVID-19, total count jumps to 10,363."

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in the national capital on April 14 amid coronavirus pandemic, the Joint Secretary of Union Health Ministry, Lav Agarwal said, "Our major effort is to see how to break the chain of transmission. If no new case is reported in an area for 28 days, the last case comes negative, then we believe that chain of transmission has broken there and no new cases are coming." "Under this, we are promoting the concept of behavioral change in terms of social distancing to break the chain of transmission," he added.

657 coronavirus positive cases confirmed in UP so far: State Health Secy

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Apr 14 (ANI): During a press conference held in Lucknow on April 14, Uttar Pradesh's Principal Health Secretary, Amit Mohan Prasad, confirmed that the state has reported 657 coronavirus positive cases so far. Amit Mohan Prasad said, "There are 657 coronavirus positive cases in Uttar Pradesh including 49 cured or discharged and 8 deaths, so far. Most of them who died were also suffering from other diseases as well and most of them were elderly persons. I appeal everyone to take special care of those who are already suffering from other diseases. Don't panic but follow all the precautionary measures such as social distancing, use of sanitizers and masks."

Kerala will strategize action plan to implement extended lockdown: Minister Shailaja

COVID-19: 'Red zone' area sealed by district admin in Srinagar amid lockdown

Srinagar, Apr 14 (ANI): A road from Natipora to Nowgam in Srinagar has been sealed by the district administration amid coronavirus lockdown. The road was sealed after it was declared a 'red zone'. The movement of people is restricted in the area. Nationwide lockdown has been imposed in backdrop of COVID-19 outbreak. There are total 270 confirmed cases of coronavirus in J-K. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 8988 in India and 339 deaths.

COVID-19: There are 47 'red zones' in Delhi now, says Satyendar Jain

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): While speaking to ANI in the national capital on April 14 amid coronavirus pandemic, the Health Minister of Delhi, Satyendar Jain, said, "There are 47 'red zones' in Delhi now. We have made the criteria more stringent now. Earlier an area used to be declared a 'Red Zone' if 10 or more positive cases were found there. Now, if three cases are found in an area it will be declared a 'Red Zone' and contained." "We haven't received the rapid testing kits yet. There is a great need for them. The central govt is about to receive the kits which have been imported, then we will get too. We will start working with it, the day we receive it," The Delhi Health Minister further added.

Bhima Koregaon violence case: Activist Gautam Navlakha surrenders before NIA

Awasthi said, "17,585 First Information Reports (FIRs) have been registered and 22,632 vehicles seized for violation of coronavirus lockdown. 404 FIRs have been registered for black marketing and hoarding and legal actions have been taken against 506 persons. In action against fake news- 12 TikTok, 7 Facebook, 2 Twitter and 1 WhatsApp accounts have been blocked."

COVID-19: 37 lakh rapid testing kits expected to come in India any time, says ICMR

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in the national capital on April 14 amid coronavirus pandemic, the scientist of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Dr Raman R Gangakhedkar said, "We yesterday (April 13) mentioned that we have kits that could last for six weeks. We have received another installment for RT-PCR kits which are far more sufficient in numbers, which would essentially mean that we would be able to cover ourselves for a long period of time." "Additionally, we are ordering close to about 33 lakh kits for RT-PCR (Reverse Transcription-Polymerase Chain Reaction) and 37 lakh rapid kits are expected to come at any point in time," he added.
