Amid 21-day lockdown in India, 6 Japanese nationals to fly back home

Visakhapatnam (AP), Apr 14(ANI): Amid the 21-day lockdown in India to battle Coronavirus, Indian authorities allowed Japanese nationals to fly back from Bangalore airport to Japan via Japan airlines. The arrangements were made after Government of India permitted their departure. Six Japanese will leave Visakhapatnam to Bangalore with a special flight.

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Apr 14(ANI): Amid masks were made compulsory for all, NexGen 3 Ding came up with 3-D printed face shields. 3 Ding CEO, Surendranath Reddy said, "We are making these face shields as second-layer protection for healthcare workers. The face mask has a short lifeline and these shields will withstand longer." He said that after doctors were complaining that they were not getting proper PPEs, and they had to use garbage bags to cover their face, we came up with this idea of 3-D printing face shields. He said, "We will be giving these masks for free to the daily essential workers." The aim is to avoid community transmission.

4 women detained for throwing plastic bags inside homes after spitting in it amidst COVID-19

Kota (Rajasthan), Apr 13(ANI): Police personnel in Kota detained four suspected women after they were found spitting in polythene bags and throwing them inside the premises of many houses. Kota SP, Gaurav Yadav said, "We've detained 4 women. After probe and interrogation, it was found that this incident isn't connected with aim of spreading COVID-19. These women had gone to the area to beg for money, but when they didn't get any money they spit to show their anger." "Further investigation is underway," SP added.

Amid lockdown, constable walks for 450 km from Kanpur to Jabalpur to join duty

Jabalpur (MP), Apr 14 (ANI): Amid coronavirus lockdown, Constable Anand Pandey walked for 450 kilometres from Kanpur to Jabalpur to join his duty. Pandey was posted in Jabalpur but had come to meet his wife on February 20 in Kanpur as she was unwell. He started to walk from Kanpur on March 30 to reach Jabalpur. It took him three days to reach his destination.

Coronavirus patients are scared, need psychological support too: AIIMS Nursing Officers

New Delhi, Apr 14 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, a nursing officer at AIIMS trauma centre on April 13 said that COVID-19 patients need psychological support because the one who is suffering is more scared than the medical staff. Senior Nursing Officer at AIIMS Delhi said, "I live at NDMC hostel of Delhi govt where 4 people live in 1 room. When I came to know of my COVID posting, I told our Nurses Union President that I would need an accommodation for the posting as I can't risk lives of others." "We don't know when we will be able to go home. But out prime responsibility is here. Families come only after that," she added. Jharkhand govt concerned for Lalu Prasad Yadav's health: CM Soren on parole of ex-Bihar CM

Out of 98 new COVID-19 cases, 91 are from 'single source': TN Health Secretary

Chennai (Tamil Nadu), Apr 13 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Chennai on April 13, the Health Secretary of Tamil Nadu, Dr Beela Rajesh said, "Today, the number of samples that are positive are 98. Of these 98, 91 are from a 'single source' and seven are from contacts." There are total 1075 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Tamil Nadu. According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, the total number of COVID-19 active cases rose to 8048 in India and 324 deaths.

Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren provides free ration to needy ones amid COVID-19 lockdown

Ranchi (Jharkhand), Apr 13 (ANI): Amid lockdown due to novel coronaviurs outbreak, Chief Minister of Jharkhand, Hemant Soren provided free ration to needy ones. Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department distributed food to needy ones under various scheme. Emergency relief packets are also being distributed among the needy. Apart from this, FCI is also providing wheat to the flour mills in view of the shortage of flour in the market. CM Soren also tweeted about the same. COVID-19: Delhi CP explains how police made lockdown successful

Meanwhile, Delhi Police played a major role in making the lockdown successful in the national capital. From smooth movement of roads to discipline on roads to helping needy ones, Delhi Police was always there for the locals. Speaking on the efforts of Delhi Police, Commissioner SN Srivastava said, "Delhi Police have made sure that goods reach to traders during the lockdown period. No new COVID-19 positive case reported in state in last 100 hours: Uttarakhand CM

Dehradun (Uttarakhand), Apr 13 (ANI): While addressing the media amid COVID-19 outbreak on April 13, the CM of Uttarakhand Trivendra Singh Rawat said, "No new COVID-19 positive case reported in the state in the last 100 hours. 7 positive patients have recovered till now."
