Whom will they meet, politicians are locked up: GN Azad on union ministers' JandK visit

New Delhi, Jan 16 (ANI): 36 Union Ministers will visit Jammu and Kashmir from 18-25 January. Speaking on it, Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said, "Whom will they meet there? In our experience, two foreign delegations have been there, they only met those people who have been sent there by the central government and told what to say. They neither meet the media nor the state government. Politicians are locked up. So, they don't meet those whom they should meet so, no meaning of sending more people."

New Delhi, Jan 16 (ANI): While addressing the Raisina Dialogue 2020 in the national capital, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Bipin Rawat, talked about stone pelters and use of pellet guns in Kashmir Valley. "Young people who have been radicalized who were pelting stones which was as lethal as pellet guns we have had casualties including death being caused because of stones. I don't think the security forces can be blamed for the injuries caused by the pellet guns," the CDS said.

"You have to come to a peace deal with everybody (in Afghanistan). If you have to come to a peace deal with them you have to go for negotiated peace. Taliban or whichever organisation is contemplating terror has to give up that weapon of terror, they must come to the political mainstream," said CDS.

Swarm of people gather for traditional bull-taming sport 'Jallikatu' in TN

Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Jan 16 (ANI): People gathered in Tamil Nadu's Madurai to participate in the traditional bull-taming sport 'Jallikattu'. Spectators were seen cheering for the bull tamers in Palamedu village on January 16. 700 bulls are participating in Jallikattu competitions in Palamedu this year. Jallikattu competitions will be held till January 31 in Madurai district. The Supreme Court (SC) in 2014 had banned 'Jallikattu' after a plea was filed by the Animal Welfare Board of India and People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) but the state government insisted Jallikattu was a crucial part of its culture and identity. The ban was later lifted in January 2017 with an amendment due to massive protests along the Marina beach in Chennai.

Google lets you use iPhone as physical security key for 2FA

New Delhi, Jan 16 (ANI): Google Smart Lock app on the iOS has received a new update that allows you to use you iPhone as physical two-factor authentication (2FA) security key. With version 1.6, you can set your phone's built-in security key for your Google Account. As The Verge notes, once you set up your iPhone, attempting to log into a Google service on a different device will send a push notification to the nearby iPhone. Once you authenticate, the login process is completed on the other device. This feature had been already available for Android phone owners.
