New Delhi, Nov 16 (ANI): The quality of tap water was found to be the worst in the national capital. Union Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Saturday released the much-awaited report of the study of samples of drinking water taken from 20 states across the country, including Delhi. However, Mumbai topped the ranking released by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for quality of tap water. Delhi finished at the bottom, with 11 out of 11 samples failing on 19 parameters.
Pune (Maharashtra), Nov16 (ANI): Activist and Bhumata Brigade founder Trupti Desai stated that government is working against women, and disrespecting Supreme Court's order that allowed entry of women of all age groups in Sabarimala temple in Kerala. Speaking to ANI, Desai said, "Yesterday, the government said that they won't provide security to women, so women are going to Sabarimala Temple without protection. Now, women are being stopped, so I think the government is working completely against women."
Sannidhanam (Kerala), Nov 16 (ANI): Devotees thronged Kerala's Sannidhanam ahead of their visit to Sabarimala Temple on November 16. The temple was opened on November 16 in the evening for the 'Mandala Pooja' festival. Tight security arrangements have also been made ahead of the pooja. The Supreme Court lifted a traditional ban on entry of women of all ages last year; however, it later referred the review petitions to a larger seven-judge bench.
Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Nov 16 (ANI): 144 Dengue cases have been recorded in Bihar's Muzaffarpur. "144 people have been tested positive for Dengue in Muzaffarpur. Fogging for dengue prevention has been done at 52 locations in the city," Muzaffarpur's Civil Surgeon Dr. Shailesh Prasad Singh told ANI. The number of cases tested positive for dengue were counted from January to November this year.

New Delhi, Nov 16 (ANI): JNU administration filed a complaint at Vasant Kunj (North) police station against the vandalism and defacement of Swami Vivekananda's statue at Jawaharlal Nehru University. The statue was allegedly vandalised by miscreants on November 14 amid protest against fee hike. Hours later the slogans written on Vivekananda's statue were wiped off by the students. It was also decorated with flowers.
Unnao (UP), Nov 16 (ANI): Farmers staged a protest in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao. They alleged that they have not been properly compensated for their lands that were acquired for Trans Ganga City project of UP State Industrial Development Corporation. Devendra Kumar Pandey, District Magistrate of Unnao said, "Trans-Ganga City is an under construction project, farmers have been compensated. There is faction of farmers who are misleading others for their selfish motives, despite the fact that their grievances have already been resolved."

During an event he said, sensational news means senseless news and core values of journalism are getting eroded. "Sensationalism has become order of the day, sensational news means senseless news. Motihari (Bihar), Nov 16 (ANI): At least four people have died and more than five have been injured after a boiler exploded in an NGO's kitchen in Bihar's Motihari on November 16. Injured have been admitted to hospital. The boiler exploded while mid-day meal was being prepared by the members of the NGO. Police and state government officials have reached the blast site and further investigation is underway. The cause of the boiler explosion is yet to be ascertained.
Panaji (Goa), Nov 16 (ANI): MiG-29K fighter aircraft crashed in Goa on November 16. The aircraft crashed soon after it took off for a training mission today. Both the pilots managed to eject safely from the aircraft. The aircraft involved in the crash was a trainer version of the fighter jet.
