Several people drown during Durga idol immersion in Rajasthan's Dholpur

Dholpur (Rajasthan), Oct 09 (ANI): Several people drowned during the immersion of Durga idol in Parbati River in Rajsthan's Dholpur. Victims will receive Rs. 1 lakh from Chief Minister's Relief Fund. Speaking to ANI, District Collector Rakesh Jaiswal said, "4-5 people have drowned in the river. 4 people have been confirmed, while the death of fifth one is not confirmed yet. 2 dead bodies have been retried so far."

1 dead, 2 injured after getting hit by car in Gaya

Gaya (Bihar), Oct 09 (ANI): One person died and two people were injured after a car hit them near Gaya Junction on October 08. Police is present at the spot to investigate the matter. Police official said, "The driver of the car has been arrested and injured have been admitted to hospital." Further details are awaited.

BS VI fuel will be available in country from April 1 next year: Javadekar

Jaipur (Rajasthan), Oct 08 (ANI): Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Tuesday said that the Bharat Stage (BS) VI fuel will be made available in the country from April 1 next year. "The BS-VI fuel will be made available from April 1 in the country. The BS-VI compliant vehicles will also be made available from next year. This initiative will reduce pollution in the air by 80-90 per cent," Javadekar said while speaking to media. Javadekar was in Jaipur to participate in a tree plantation event at the Malaviya National Institute of Technology (MNIT) here on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.

NMCG organizes 'Ganga Calling' expedition from Devprayag to Ganga Sagar

New Delhi, Oct 10, 2019 (ANI): Union Cabinet Minister of Ministry of Jal Shakti, Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Monday announced that a month-long river rafting expedition between Devprayag in Uttarakhand to Ganga Sagar in West Bengal will be held between October 10 and November 12. A nine-member team of swimmers and rafters from the three Services of the armed forces, led by acclaimed international open-water swimmer Wing Commander Paramvir Singh will take part in the expedition.The team would be joined by three members from NDRF and two members each from Wildlife Institute of India and Indian Institute of Toxicology Research (CSIR- IITR), according to Jal Shakti ministry. This is the first-ever effort by National Mission for Clean Ganga to raft across the entire stretch of the river and also the longest ever social campaign undertaken through an adventure sporting activity to raise awareness about the ecological problems in Ganga. Rajnath Singh arrives in Paris to receive first Rafale combat aircraft

Paris (France), Oct 08 (ANI): Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on October 8 arrived at Velizy - Villacoublay Air Base. PMC Bank crisis affects preparations for 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev

Chandigarh (Punjab), Oct 08 (ANI): The Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative Bank's withdrawal limit has affected the preparations for the 550th anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. At least 10 gurdwaras had saved crore of rupees in the bank to commemorate the event. Speaking to ANI on the issue, Chandigarh Sector-8 Gurudwara Prabhandak Committee president SS Kohli said, "If I am not wrong, I believe that a huge amount of funds belonging to different gurudwara management committees were parked with this bank (PMC Bank) in controversy." He urged the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) to immediately release 50 per cent of the amount deposited in the PMC Bank. "If not full then at least 50 per cent of amount lying as deposits, saved in the bank, should be released immediately as a special case," he said. On Monday, Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) demanded that the RBI should take over the operations of the PMC Bank and the money of account holders should be given back to them.
