Civil bodies organise protest march against Citizenship Amendment Bill in Manipur's Imphal

Imphal (Manipur), Oct 04 (ANI): A conglomerate of several civil bodies including the Manipur People against Citizenship Amendment Bill (MANPAC) organised a protest march against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) in Manipur's Imphal on October 03. Student bodies of Manipur also joined them in the protest. People came up in large numbers to protest on streets against the Citizenship Amendment Bill.

2 patients lose eyesight after cataract surgery in MP's Chhindwara

Chhindwara (Madhya Pradesh), Oct 3 (ANI): At least two patients allegedly lost their eyesight after undergoing cataract surgery in a district hospital in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara. While speaking to ANI, Chhindwara DM Shrinivas Sharma said, "On Sep 25, 4 persons underwent surgery, 2 of them are unable to see. The matter will be investigated by a team of doctors."

Bihar floods: Despite Orange alert, situation normal in Patna, says NDRF DG

New Delhi, Oct 03 (ANI): Heavy and continuous downpour led to dreadful flood situation in Bihar. Speaking on this issue NDRF DG, SN Pradhan said, "Orange alert (issued by IMD) is there but as the situation stands now, weather wise, it is very normal in Patna and also in 5 districts of Bihar. This is good for relief and rescue operations. NDRF teams will continue to work till life returns back to near normal."

Jammu (J-K), Oct 03 (ANI): Advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Governor, Farooq Khan said Kashmiri leaders will be released from detention one by one after analysis of every individual. On being asked if after Jammu leaders, now Kashmiri leaders will be released from detention? He replied, "Yes, one by one after analysis of every individual, they will be released."

India responded positively to situation in South China Sea: Vietnam's Envoy to India

New Delhi, Oct 03 (ANI): Commending India's role in the present situation developing in South China Sea, Ambassador of Vietnam to India, Pham Sanh Chau, said, "India has responded positively to the situation (in south China sea). India has interest in peace and stability in the region and Indian companies are operating at the moment in the region,"he further added. When asked if Vietnam would raise the issue at the upcoming annual security dialogue with India, Chau said, "I think the new mechanism of security dialogue will strengthen relations between the two countries and include questions of security in Vietnam and India."

Repeatedly told China to withdraw its vessels from our waters: Vietnam's Envoy to India

New Delhi, Oct 03 (ANI): Vietnam has repeatedly called on China to remove all its vessels out of Vietnamese waters in South China Sea, said Pham Sanh Chau, Ambassador of Vietnam to India. "The situation is serious because Chinese vessels are still in Vietnamese waters. Security beefed in Delhi after intel of possible terror attack

Hiranagar villagers living in fear due to heavy cross border firing in Kathua

J-K will be one of the most developed states within 10 years: Amit Shah

New Delhi, Oct 02 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Jammu and Kashmir will become one of the most developed states in India within10 years. While speaking at the flag-off ceremony of Vande Bharat express train from Delhi to Katra, Shah said, "Before abrogation of Article 370, there were many obstacles in J-K's path to development. In next 10 years, J-K will be one of the most developed states. The journey of development has begun, with Vande Bharat Express set to boost tourism in state." He further added, "I am proud that this 'Made in India' train is being flagged-off from here today. The Railways is working towards achieving its targets keeping in mind principles of speed, scale and service."

Amit Shah flags off Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat express train

New Delhi, Oct 03 (ANI): Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Union Railway Minister Piyush Goyal flagged off Delhi-Katra Vande Bharat train on October 03 from Delhi. Several other ministers also attended the event including Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Harsh Vardhan and Minister of State in PMO, Jitendra Singh. The train will bring down the travel time between Delhi and Katra, the last station on the way to Vaishno Devi temple, to eight hours from the current 12 hours. The luxury all air-conditioned chair car service with 16 coaches is an engine-less self-propelled train set which allows for faster acceleration and deceleration, therefore reducing travel time by 40 percent.

Bihar Floods: Death toll mounts to 73, informs State Disaster Mgmt Secy

Patna (Bihar), Oct 03 (ANI): While speaking to ANI, Principal Secretary of Disaster Management Department of Bihar, Pratyaya Amrit said that 73 people have died in rain-related incidents in the state. "According to yesterday's estimates, 73 people died and 9 injured due to flood. Pump we brought from Coal India had technical issues. If it starts working today, we'll clear water from Rajendra Nagar," informed Amrit.
