Anupriya Lakra becomes first woman pilot from Odisha's Naxal-hit region

Malkangiri (Odisha), Sep 10 (ANI): Hailing from Odisha's Naxal-affected Malkangiri district, 27-year-old Anupriya Lakra has scripted history by becoming the first female pilot from the backward region. Lakra, who will soon join a private airline as a co-pilot, has achieved this feat after years of hard work. At 23, she decided to quit engineering and join the aviation academy to fulfil her dream of becoming a pilot. Extending good wishes on her remarkable achievement, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik had said in a tweet that Lakra has become an inspiration by setting an example for others to emulate. While speaking to media, Anupriya Lakra's mother said, "People used to say she will not be able to do it as we belong to a backward village. But she has proved them wrong. We feel very proud of her."

Grab SP, collector's collar to become big political leader: Chhattisgarh Minister

Sukma (Chhattisgarh), Sep 10 (ANI): Chhattisgarh Commerce and Industry Minister, Kawasi Lakhma in a video which went viral, said that he advised a student to grab collector and SP by their collars, if he wants to become a big political leader. However, later he said that his statement has been misconstrued. Minister clarified by saying, "I ask children what do they aspire to be. Man allegedly dies during vehicle checking in UP's Noida

Noida (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 10 (ANI): A man allegedly died due to heart attack after his car was stopped by a traffic policeman for checking papers in Uttar Pradesh's Noida on September 09. According to the police official, the incident took place at about 6:00 pm and the deceased was diabetic. While speaking to ANI, SSP of Gautam Budh Nagar Vaibhav Krishna said, "He died during the checking due to heart attack. As far as we have enquired there was no misconduct on the part of the police. Doctors confirmed that the deceased was diabetic. The case is in the jurisdiction of Ghaziabad and we have informed Ghaziabad police for further action." You can now share Spotify music on Snapchat

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): Spotify users will now be able to share what their current favourite music track is to their friends on Snapchat. In its official blog, Spotify said that all users who also use Snapchat will be able to share their favourite tracks, playlists, albums, and podcasts right to a Snapchat story. Users can simply tap on the 'share' menu while listening to any audio content, and select Snapchat. If recipients also use Spotify, they will be able to start streaming via the context card of the Snap. Spotify will soon roll out this integration across iOS and Android devices.

Here's how judicial trial affects physical, mental health

New Delhi, Sep 10 (ANI): A recent study found that being convicted of a crime not only affects one's mental health but also physical health. For this study from North Carolina State University, Fernandes looked at data from a nationally representative sample of about 9,000 young people who participated in the National Longitudinal Survey of Youth 1997, focusing specifically on data submitted between 1999 and 2010. The study participants were between the ages of 18 and 32, reported the study published in the journal 'Social Currents'. Specifically, Fernandes evaluated self-reported physical and mental health assessments to determine whether there was a change in reported health status associated with justice system contact. He looked at four types of contact for study participants: being arrested; being charged; being convicted, and being sentenced to jail time. People reported an increase in depression and stress across the continuum of contact, from arrest to jail time.

Delhi-Mumbai Expressway will be built before next election: Nitin Gadkari

Youth Congress organises 'cycle yatra' to support its national secretary's 'Unity in Diversity' campaign

Hyderabad, Sep 09 (ANI): Telangana Youth Congress wing on September 09 organised a cycle rally to extend their support to Youth National Congress secretary Santosh Kolkunda who is on a cycle journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The rally was organised in Hyderabad. Kolkunda is on a journey to spread the message of 'Unity in Diversity'. He embarked on the journey last month. Upon his arrival in Hyderabad as part of his ongoing journey, Kolkunda was felicitated by his fellow party workers, who took out a cycle rally in his support. The National Congress secretary is doing a 'cycle yatra' from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to promote the message of 'Unity in Diversity' on Gandhiji's 150th birth anniversary. Kolkunda started the journey on August 15 and has so far covered 2,500 kilometres.
