Bengaluru, Sep 07 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with schoolchildren at ISRO centre in Bengaluru on September 07. 60 students from across the country, who were selected through ISRO's 'Space Quiz' competition, reached the centre to witness the landing of Vikram Lander on the moon along with the PM. Scientists at ISRO lost communication with the Vikram Lanader when it was about 2.1 Kms from surface of the moon.

'Hawan' performed in Patna for successful landing of Chandrayaan-2

Patna (Bihar), Sep 06 (ANI): Ahead of the launch of Chandrayaan-2, special 'Hawan' was being performed in Bihar's Patna on September 06. Chandrayaan-2 will land on the Moon between 1:30 am to 2:30 am on September 07. It will descend on to the Moon over a 15-minute time period. 'Hawan' was conducted by around 31 Brahmin children in Patna. They chanted 'Mantras' for successful launch of Chandrayaan-2. Chandrayaan-2 is India's most ambitious space mission till date.

Prez Kovind will visit Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia from Sep 9-17: MEA

New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): While addressing a press conference in Delhi, MEA Secretary (West), A Gitesh Sarma on September 06, said that President RamNath Kovind will be on three-nation visit from Sep 09-17. "He will visit Iceland, Switzerland and Slovenia. Kovind will visit Iceland on September 09 and then will fly for Switzerland after two days for Sep 11-15 visit, and Slovenia to Sep 15-17. He will be accompanied by high level delegation," he added.

ISRO selects 9-year-old Bushra to watch Chandrayaan-2 moon landing with PM Modi

Bardhaman (WB), Sep 06 (ANI): Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) one of the most ambitious projects, Chandrayaan-2 is going to pull off soft landing on moon's surface on September 06 midnight. Chandrayaan-2 Vikram lander will begin its final decent to pull off a soft landing on the lunar surface. ISRO has also invited students, who have been selected from all over the country to watch the soft landing. These students got selected after winning a space quiz. These students will watch the soft landing of Chandrayaan-2 along with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in ISRO's Bengaluru headquarters. One of the students, Nine-year-old Bushra Alam from West Bengal's Bardhaman also got an opportunity to see the landing. A successful landing will make India the fourth country after Russia, US and China to achieve a soft landing on the moon. Chandrayaan-2 mission is all about soft landing: Former ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan

Bengaluru, Sep 06 (ANI): Former ISRO scientist, S Nambi Narayanan said Chandrayaan 2 mission is all about soft landing on Moon surface. "If you compare Chandrayaan 1 with Chandrayaan2, the basic difference is that we will do a soft landing. The former was carried by PSLV and for the latter we have used GSLV Mk III, meaning we have more payload capability," he said. Chandrayaan-2 Vikram lander will make a soft landing on the surface of Moon in the early hours of Saturday (September 07). The Vikram lander is scheduled to make its soft landing between 1.30 am and 2.30 am.

Here's what IIT Bombay students say about Chandrayaan-2's Moon landing

Mumbai, Sep 06 (ANI): Chandrayaan-2 Vikram lander will begin its finals decent to pull off a soft landing on the lunar surface on September 6. The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay students are very excited about the soft landing. Students in one word said that it's a moment of pride for the country and as well as for the countrymen. One of the IIT students Sanskriti Bhansali, said, "It's a moment of success not just for ISRO, India but also for the world. Giving the nature of the whole mission, it is first of its kind and this will also help space research throughout the world, we will definitely be able to collaborate with other countries over this." NMCG gains global experiences from World Water Week 2019 to clean Ganga

New Delhi (ANI) Sept 06: The National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) to seek the help of foreign experts to develop a kind of environmental flow regime for river Ganga and its tributaries. The Director General of National Mission for Clean Ganga, Rajiv Ranjan Mishra who recently returned after participating in the World Water Week 2019 in Stockholm, Sweden said he had interacted with many experts who have shown interest in visiting India and contributing for conservation of holy Ganga and its tributaries. NMCG set up a pavilion in the World Water Week 2019 during August 25 to 30, 2019 and successfully projected the massive size and diverse achievements and potential areas of collaboration and investment of the Namami Gange' mission. The pavilion displayed NMCG's vision and works on the Ganga River Basin Management Plan for the visiting delegates, experts, researchers, academicians, policy makers, technology providers and water industry leaders.

Delhi Police busts car theft gang, arrests 3 in Dwarka

New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): Dwarka District Police arrested three people after busting a network of car thieves. Sagar, Sandeep and Amit are the members of the gang which was involved in car robberies in Dwarka. The trio used to target only those taxi drivers who would drive alone. They used to kidnap the driver along with the car, and after looting all the belongings from the driver, they would push him out and drive away with the car. Considering the increasing cases of robbery in the district, police initiated a detailed investigation in the case, and through the help of CCTV footage the authorities identified Amit who was arrested from his Nazafgarh house. Further, through the information extracted from Amit, police later arrested Sagar and Sandeep.

8-year-old girl dies in Kanpur govt hospital, family alleges medical apathy

Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh), Sep 06 (ANI): An eight-year-old girl died inside the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine of a privately run facility inside the government-owned Hospital in Uttar Pradesh's Kanpur on September 05. She was being treated at the pediatric wing of Lala Lajpat Rai Hospital in Kanpur. Her family members alleged that overdose of the sedative given to the child ahead of the MRI scan caused her death. The girl was undergoing treatment for cardioplegia, a condition in which body parts don't function properly. Hospital staff claimed that the child did not die of overdose, but her condition was critical when she was brought in the hospital.

Fire breaks out in train coach at New Delhi Railway Station

New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): A fire broke out in the rear power car of Chandigarh-Kochuveli Express at platform number 8 of New Delhi Railway Station on September 06. Four fire tenders were present at the spot to douse the flames. However, there have been no casualties due to the fire, and all the passengers were safely evacuated. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Dinesh Gupta, told ANI, "All passengers have been evacuated safely and they will take legal action over the incident."

SC lawyer files complaint against Shehla Rashid over allegedly spreading fake news against Indian Army

New Delhi, Sep 06 (ANI): Delhi Police on September 6 filed an FIR against activist Shehla Rashid for allegedly spreading fake news against Indian Army on Kashmir issue. Delhi police took the step after a complaint by Supreme Court lawyer Alakh Alok Srivastav. Lawyer Alakh Alok Srivastav said, "She (Shehla Rashid) had tried to provoke the people that they should breach the peace and they should try to engage into some kind of riots because she had tried to give false scenario image which is going on in Kashmir. She had not given any evidence to substantiate her tweets. The tweets made by her are absolutely false and allegations made by her only to defame the image of Indian Army and to incite violence. The complaint had sought the arrest of Rashid for allegedly spreading fake news against Indian Army.

Pollution reduced by 25 % in Delhi, claims CM Kejriwal
