Kadamtala (North Tripura), Sep 02 (ANI): During a joint operation along with BSF, Tripura police recovered several packets of marijuana from Tripura-Assam bordering area. The contraband was recovered in North District's Kadamtala during the search of an ambulance in which it was being transported. Marijuana weighs around 197 kilograms. Driver of the vehicle and others who were there managed to flee leaving behind the ambulance.

Leh (Ladakh), Sep 01 (ANI): The passing-out parade for recruits was held by Ladakh Scouts Regiment in Leh on August 31. Around 207 young soldiers joined the regiment as young soldiers. This ceremony was conducted in consonance with the highest traditions of the Indian Army and was reviewed by Lieutenant General Yogesh Kumar Joshi and Ladakh Scouts by a spectrum of civil and military dignitaries, including war heroes of the regiment and parents of the recruits. The young soldiers hailing from all regions of Ladakh took oath to serve the nation. The reviewing officer congratulated them for the impressive parade and urged them to devote their life in service of the nation as proud soldiers. Dhule (Maharashtra), Sep 01 (ANI): While speaking to mediaperons on explosion in a chemical factory in Dhule which took place on August 31, Maharashtra Minister Girish Mahajan said, "At least 13 people died, more than 50 were injured. The injured are hospitalised, 2 are being sent to Mumbai for operation. We have directed to form an inquiry commission. A detailed investigation is being done. Ex-gratia of Rs 5 Lakh each to next of the kin of the deceased has been announced, Rs 50,000 each will be given to the injured. The state government will bear the expenses of their medical treatment." Bengaluru (Karnataka), Sep 01 (ANI): Ahead of the joyous festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, more than 9,000 coconuts were used to make eco-friendly Lord Ganesha idol in Bengaluru. Coconut Ganesha idol is installed in a temple near Puttenahalli area of Bengaluru. Eco-friendly Ganesha idol is installed every year in that temple by Sri Sathya Ganapathi Shirdi Sai Trust. Around 75 workers are working from last 20-25 days on making the idol of Lord Ganesha. While speaking to ANI, Corporator of Bommanahalli area in Bengaluru, Mohan Raj said, "All the fruits, vegetables and coconuts will be given back to the devotees as 'prasadam'. The ingredients used to make Ganesha idol will be utilised in different ways." "We have used 9,000 raw coconuts and 3,000 tender coconuts for the decoration of Lord Ganesha. Chhindwara (MP), Sep 01 (ANI): As many as 168 people suffered injuries during the annual "Gotmar" (stone-pelting) festival in Madhya Pradesh's Chhindwara district on August 31. The area, where the festival took place, was monitored by the police personnel and drones. A case has been registered against those found using catapults to fling stones. During the festival, residents of Pandhurna and Sawargaon villages gathered on the opposite sides of the Jam River bank and pelted stones at each other as a part of a centuries-old tradition.
