Marbat festival celebrated with zeal and fervour

Nagpur (MH), Aug 31 (ANI): A festival of Marbat is being celebrated on August 31. This festival is marked only in Maharashtra's Nagpur. Thousands of people gathered on the streets and took out a procession of effigies known as Marbats. These are clay effigies Kali (black) and Pilvi (yellow) which are later burnt by the locals as a symbol of evil forces. It's believed that these statues absorb the negativity and social evils when they are taken through the streets. And then the negativity and social evils are burnt along with the statues.

Dia Mirza spreads awareness about using eco-friendly Ganesha in Mumbai

Hyderabad, Aug 31 (ANI): The final list of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) in Assam has been released on August 31 which left out over 19 lakh people in the state, rendering them stateless. While speaking to media on NRC list, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, "Many people in Assam have told me that the parents' names are included, but names of their children are excluded. For example, Mohammad Sanaullah, he has served in Indian Army. His case is pending in the High Court. I am sure that he will also get justice." "Now, this is an embarrassing moment for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)," Owaisi added.

When emotions meet treatment! Doctors treat baby girl's doll before her

New Delhi, Aug 31 (ANI): In a first, a doctor treated an 11-month-old girl's doll before treating her to make her comfortable. An 11-month-old girl Zikra suffering from a fracture was in severe pain and was refusing treatment so to make her comfortable, doctors and girl's mother came up with an idea to first treat baby girl's doll 'Pari', as child is very close to the doll, and then treat her. This unique treatment took place at Delhi's Lok Nayak Hospital. Dr Ajay Gupta, Professor of Orthopedic at Lok Nayak Hospital explained the whole incident. "An 11-month-old girl suffering from a fracture was refusing treatment so her mother gave us idea to pretend to treat her doll first, as child is very close to the doll. It worked well and patient felt comforted." Treating the doll worked surprisingly well and the patient felt comfortable. This one of a kind treatment is a perfect example of when doctors respect patient's emotion.

While speaking to media on The National Register of Citizens (NRC) list, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi said, "I have my own doubts that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) through Citizen Amendment Bill can bring a bill wherein they can try to give citizenship to all non-Muslims, which will again be a violation of Right to Equality." "BJP should learn a lesson. They should stop asking for NRC throughout the country in terms of Hindus and Muslims. They should learn from what has happened in Assam. The so-called myth of illegal migrants has been busted," Owaisi added.

Arunachal Pradesh's Banwang Losu scripts history by developing new script for tribal community

Pune (Maharashtra), Aug 31 (ANI): To preserve and document the language of Arunachal, Banwang Losu has created a script for his tribe's language Wancho, which now has a place in the Unicode. The Wancho language belongs to the Tibeto-Burman family under Northern Naga languages. Banwang who is pursuing his Masters in linguistics at Deccan College Post Graduation and Research Institute in Pune has been working to develop a script for Wancho- a tribal language that has 55,000 speakers in Longding district, Arunachal Pradesh. In 2013, a book titled 'Wancho script' was published. This book carries basic application of letters into words and sentences. The new script has come as a boon for Wancho-speaking people in Longding district.

12 dead after explosion in chemical factory Maharashtra's Dhule

Malicious websites allowed hacking into iPhones for years: Google

New Delhi, Aug 31 (ANI): Google's Threat Analysis Group (TAG) discovered that a collection of malicious websites allowed hacking of the iPhones using the zero-day vulnerability for over at least two years. In its official blog, Google said that the hacked sites were being used to attack against the visitors. TAG was able to collect five unique iPhone exploit chains, affecting every version from iOS 10 through to the latest iOS 12. By simply visiting the hacked site, it was enough for the exploit server to attack the device and install a monitoring implant. The bug was reported earlier this year and Apple had fixed the issues in the iOS 12.1.4 release.
