Antaliya, Nov 16 (ANI): Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperson Vikas Swarup on Monday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been invited by Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan on a bilateral visit to Turkey next year. He added that the Prime Minister said there were good possibilities of cooperation with Turkey in areas of civil nuclear cooperation, space and agricultural research. Swarup further said that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley is scheduled to visit Australia in March, 2016.

PM Modi meets European Council President, discusses trade issues

Antalya, Nov 16 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi met President of the European Council, Donald Tusk, to discuss trade issues on the sidelines of G-20 Summit in Turkey. In October, India said the European Union's ban on Indian generic drugs is "unwarranted" and an obstacle to moving trade talks forward. Foreign secretary S Jaishankar said EU restrictions on more than 700 generic drugs were unfair. India and Germany have pledged to revive efforts to reach an Indo-European free trade pact after talks fell apart this year. The European Commission is the executive body of the European Union (EU) responsible for proposing legislation, implementing decisions and upholding the treaties and managing the day-to-day business. The European Council is one of the bicameral EU legislatures, the other being the European Parliament.

Paris attacks: More suspects identified as manhunt continues

Paris, Nov 16 (ANI): Police have identified two more suspects as they continue the manhunt for terrorists who had links with the deadly attacks on Friday night. Francois Molins, the Paris prosecutor, said in a statement that two new terrorists who died on the evening of November 13 are French nationals living in Belgium. The two, whose names were not revealed, have been formally identified after collection and comparison of their fingerprints. Four dead attackers have been identified so far, and authorities are still trying to identify the others. Meanwhile, police announced seven arrests and were trying to hunt for more members of the terrorists who are believed to have carried out the Paris attacks that killed 129 people. Among the wanted is a 26-year-old French national named as Salah Abdeslam, who is described as "dangerous". Abdeslam has been identified as the renter of a car used in the attack. India seals nuclear deal with Australia

Antalya, Nov 16 (ANI): India and Australia finalised their civil nuclear deal, making it possible for energy-starved New Delhi to buy uranium from Canberra after meeting between the two prime ministers on the sidelines of G-20 Summit in Turkey. The two countries announced the exchange of instruments of ratification after meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his new Australian counterpart Malcolm Turnbull in Antalya. The nuclear deal is a further step toward India achieving international acceptability for its nuclear programme despite not ratifying the nuclear non-proliferation treaty, and follows similar agreements with the United States and France. Talks towards the Civil Nuclear Cooperation Agreement began a few years ago after Australia lifted a long-standing ban on selling uranium to energy-starved India.

Antalya, Nov 15 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the 10th G-20 Summit being held in Antalya on Sunday. During the summit, the G-20 countries will review the progress on decision taken at the last Brisbane Summit. They are also likely to discuss terrorism and migration at a dinner on Sunday evening. The issues such as climate change, corporate tax avoidance and the overall state of the world economy are also likely to be discussed. Paris attacks: 129 dead, 352 injured

Paris, Nov 15 (ANI): The provisional death toll of Paris attacks is 129 dead and 352 injured, among whom at least 99 in very critical situations, Paris Prosecutor Francois Molins has announced. Among the 129 victims, 89 were killed during the shooting and hostage taking in Bataclan theatre, Molins told. He also added that seven attackers were also neutralized, including three killed during the assault carried out by security forces to rescue hostages taken in Bataclan theatre. One of the suspects was born in France in 1985, known to the intelligence services. Meanwhile local residents and tourists who were still touring on the street in Paris after the series of attacks expressed that they were worried about the security and felt nervous due to the uncertainty of the attacks. Antalya, Nov 15 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in the Mediterranean coastal city of Antalya in Turkey to attend the two-day G-20 summit, where heads of the government would primarily discuss global economic issues but the talks would be dominated by attacks in Paris and war in Syria. Modi, who interacted with dignitaries at the tarmac, was presented a bouquet by two children. Paris streets deserted in aftermath of shooting

Paris, Nov 14 (ANI): The streets of Paris were unusually empty on Saturday (November 14), the morning after a series of attacks at locations across the capital in which French President Francois Hollande said 127 people had died. Gunmen and bombers attacked restaurants, a concert hall and a sports stadium in a deadly rampage that a shaken Hollande called an unprecedented terrorist attack. Shortly after the attacks, France declared a national state of emergency - the first since World War Two. Border controls were temporarily reimposed to stop perpetrators escaping. The Paris metro railway was closed and schools, universities and municipal buildings were ordered to stay shut on Saturday. And the impact was visible on the streets. Large public gatherings were also forbidden, including food markets which usually take place across the capital every weekends.
