Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Jun 13 (ANI): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Summit in Bishkek, the former invited the Chinese leader for a Wuhan-like informal summit to India later this year for which Jinping expressed his "readiness", Ministry of Foreign Affairs told reporters in Kyrgyzstan capital. "Prime Minister welcomed him (Xi Jinping) to India for next informal summit. President Xi Jinping confirmed his readiness to visit India this year," said Vijay Gokhale, Foreign Secretary, MEA. PM Modi had held delegation-level talks with the Chinese President on the sidelines of two-day SCO Summit.

The prime minister also thanked Russia for its support for the rifle manufacturing unit in Amethi. PM Modi had arrived in Bishkek today to attend the two-day multilateral conference. New Delhi, Jun 12 (ANI): 5,000 police personnel in anti-riot gear have sealed all entrances of the Hong Kong's Legislative Council building, around which the protests are being held. Swathes of protesters took to the streets of Hong Kong continuing demonstrations against a controversial extradition bill which would allow criminal suspects in the city to be sent to mainland China for trial. The demonstrators have blocked roads around the complex and have erected barriers to hamper the arrival of additional policemen, according to CNN. Critics believe that the bill will leave anyone on Hong Kong soil vulnerable to being grabbed by the Chinese authorities for political reasons or inadvertent business offences, according to Al Jazeera.
Washington, DC (US), Jun 12 (ANI): Scott Perry, a member of the US Congress from Pennsylvania, reaffirmed support to the religious and ethnic minorities, who came together on Tuesday to stop religious radicalism in South Asia, particularly in Pakistan. While speaking to ANI, Perry said, "Pakistan needs to be isolated among the community of nations if they continue to harbour terrorism." Perry also highlighted the plight of all suffering ethnic and religious groups and how Pakistan has not yet taken any strong action against the terrorism operating from its soil. Perry added, "We don't support the fact that minorities are being suppressed anywhere for their religious beliefs or otherwise, and this is one of the reasons why the United States-Pakistan relations remain strenuous because we cannot accept that."

London (England), Jun 10 (ANI): The World Baloch Organization (WBO) and the Baloch Republican Party (BRP) have jointly launched a human rights awareness campaign in London. The groups aim to highlight the "dire human rights situation in Pakistan," particularly the human rights abuses faced by the ethnic Baloch, Sindhi, Pashtun, Mohajir and religious minorities in the country through the campaign. The campaign will focus on the issue of enforced disappearances in Pakistan, where thousands have been forcibly abducted by Pakistan's military and its intelligence agencies. While most are extra-judicially killed and their bodies dumped on roadsides bearing signs of extreme torture, the groups claimed. Amnesty International has termed it the "Kill and dump" policy. The festival surrounds the tradition of displaying a jewel-studded vest 'Bhoto'. It is mainly celebrated by Buddhists and Hindus of the Newar community.
