GSFC plans engineering plastic capacity expansion

Gujarat State Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd. (GSFC), a complex fertilisers and industrial products manufacturing company, has decided to enhance the existing production capacity of its Nylon-6 engineering plastic to meet the growing demand of engineering and film grade plastics.

The project for additional 15,000 metric MTPY capacity will be set up at the company’s Fertilizernagar unit in Vadodara at an estimated cost of Rs 125 crore. Germany-based technology leader Lurgi GmbH, who has provided a number of similar projects globally, will be providing technological knowhow to GSFC. An agreement was signed between GSFC and Lurgi GmbH at the corporate office of GSFC at Fertilizernagar on Friday.
