Rubbishing news reports that ration cards were being accepted as an eligible document to cast vote, Tamil Nadu Chief Electoral Officer Naresh Gupta today said only documents, which had a photographic evidence of the voter would be accepted as proof.      

Slamming some sattelite Television channels, which had said that ration cards would be accepted as one of the documents, he said only documents with photo identity would be accepted as proof.      

"It is highly irregular and improper on the part of the TV channels to misinform the public," he said.      

He also denied the allegation by Tamil film actor Kamal Haasan that his name was missing from the electoral rolls.      

Reacting to the complaint in this regard by the actor, Gupta said Haasan's name was found in a different booth as there was a change in his address.
