Govt seeks funds for various infrastructure facilities

Rao presented a memorandum to Goel during the meeting seeking as much as Rs 33.45 croresfor modernisation of the existing facilities in the Sports complex, for raising a multi purpose indoor stadium and laying of synthetic athletic track in the Government Medical College and Research Institute here and for construction of one multipurpose indoor stadium each in Villianoor, Koodapakkam and Bahoor villages here.

He had sought a total assistance of Rs 5.88 crores for laying play grounds in Yanam region and also urged the Central minister to sanction Rs 5 crores for laying a football turf and basketball court in Mahe region.
