Portfolio Management Services (PMS) industry recorded a steady rise in assets under management (AUM), which increased 1.8 per cent month-on-month to Rs 43.3 lakh crore in June 2026, reflecting growing investor preference for customised and professionally managed investment solutions.
The growth continued to be driven by the discretionary segment, according to a report released by the Association of Portfolio Managers in India (APMI) on Tuesday.
The industry's client base also expanded nearly 4 per cent during the month to around 2.20 lakh accounts, indicating broader investor participation in FY27.
Of the total AUM, the discretionary segment accounted for Rs 36.72 lakh crore, while the non-discretionary segment managed assets worth Rs 3.42 lakh crore, and the advisory category contributed Rs 3.06 lakh crore.
Total inflows surged to Rs 3.55 lakh crore in June from Rs 4,085 crore in May, led by a sharp increase in discretionary inflows.

Ekart, the supply chain arm of the Flipkart Group, on Tuesday announced the opening of its pan-India logistics network to external businesses, including micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, and fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) companies.

Telecom subscriber base in the country increased marginally to 134.8 crore in June, driven by net addition of subscribers on the networks of Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio, according to data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on Tuesday.
Bharti Airtel led subscriber growth during the month, adding 31.63 lakh users compared with May. The additions included 29.89 lakh mobile subscribers and 1.73 lakh fixed-line connections.
It was followed by Reliance Jio which reported a net addition of 22.91 lakh subscribers, comprising 21.46 lakh in mobile segment and 1.44 lakh in fixed line segment.
Together, the two private telecom operators accounted for 54.54 lakh, or about 87 per cent, of the total net addition of 62 lakh subscribers in June.

The government has proposed to extend the validity of the Pollution Under Control Certificate (PUCC) for up to six-year-old BS-VI-compliant private vehicles to three years instead of the current one year to ease the burden on owners.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH), in a draft notification, has said that BS-VI vehicles aged between six and ten years will be required to renew their PUCC certificate and those above 10 years every six years.
According to the draft notification, while all motor vehicles complying with BS-IV emission norms will have to renew their PUCC every six months, all motor vehicles complying with BS-I, BS-II and BS-III emission norms will have to renew their PUCC every three months.
BS, or Bharat Stage, refers to India's vehicle emission standards that set limits on pollutants, such as carbon monoxide (CO), nitrogen oxides (NOx), hydrocarbons (HC) and particulate matter (PM).

Tamilnad Mercantile Bank (TMB) on Monday reported a 35 per cent jump in net profit to Rs 412 crore for the first quarter ended June 30 on improvement in its core income.
The bank had a net profit of Rs 305 crore in the June quarter of the previous fiscal.
The total income rose to Rs 1,901 crore during the June quarter of the current fiscal year from Rs 1,617 crore in the same quarter of FY26, TMB said in a regulatory filing.
Interest earned by the bank improved to Rs 1,662 crore, as compared to Rs 1,386 crore in the June quarter of FY26.
Net Interest Income of the bank rose by 32 per cent to Rs 765 crore from Rs 580 crore in Q1 of the previous financial year.
In a post-result interaction with media, Tamilnad Mercantile Bank MD and CEO Salee Sukumaran Nair said the bank is exploring an option of opening a representative office overseas to mobilise deposits from NRIs.
