It’s going to be double delight for Indian cine buffs this Friday. First, Salman Khan’s Eid release Bajrangi Bhaijaan is set to hit the screens; and second, the movie will also showcase the trailer of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s much-awaited Bajirao Mastani.
With Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Khan will be hoping to replicate the success of his earlier Eid releases — Kick, Ek Tha Tiger, Bodyguard, Dabangg and Wanted, which had surpassed many past records — and give yet another box-office blockbuster.

Based on a cross-border theme, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, is the story of an Indian man on a mission to take a mute girl lost in India back to her home in Pakistan. The story portrays the love and affection they discover during their journey.

Many experts expect this movie to potentially be one of the biggest hits of the year, even before its release.
According to an IB Times report, distributors and exhibitor are positive that Bajrangi Bhaijaan will do phenomenal business in India and first-week tickets will be sold out in advance, if the buzz remains the same. The film is to simultaneously hit more than 5,000 screens globally. In India, it will be released in about 4,500 screens.

During the screening of Bajrangi Bhaijaan, movie goers will also get to watch the trailer of Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani, a movie that was first expected to be released way back in 2003. Eros has already released the trailer on its website.

Bajirao Mastani is scheduled to be released on December 18. Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra play lead characters in the film.

Singh plays the role of the Maratha Peshwa Bajirao, Deepika will be seen as the warrior queen Mastani, and Priyanka plays Bajirao’s first wife, Kashibai.

When the film was first announced, Bhansali wanted to cast Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai (his lead pair from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam), but could not do so after their highly publicised “break-up”.

Later, there were reports Bhansali would cast Khan and Kareena Kapoor as the lead pair, with Rani Mukerji playing Baji Rao’s first wife. But in July 2003, Bhansali said at the popular talk show Koffee with Karan, that he had scrapped the plan as Khan and Kapoor had had signed other movies together. Bhansali wanted to be the first director to showcase this pair.
