| A 152-yard nine iron shot to within 18 inches of the hole to force a play-off with Spain's Carlos Rodiles at the Volvo Masters of Andalucia earned Swede Fredrik Jacobson the "Shot of the Year" award. |
| The outstanding shot had a dramatic impact on the outcome of the season-ending tournament as Jacobson subsequently won the title at the fourth extra hole. |
| The second best shot award went to Lee Westwood's remarkable 224-yard four iron for an albatross two at Kingsbarns, which contributed hugely to the Englishman's subsequent victory in the Dunhill Links championship. |
| The third best was the 180-yard wedge played by Trevor Immelman at the final hole of the South African Airways Open at Erin Vale GC, Cape Town. |

| Former US Open and Wimbledon champion and world No 1 Lleyton Hewitt was seen in a new role last week, when he carried the bag as a caddie for the legendary Greg Norman at the Australian PGA Championships. |
| In return Norman plans to be present and cheer for Hewitt at the Australian Open tennis early next year. |
| Norman who had a five-under 67 on first day and was tied for third, finished the tournament at six-under 282 and tied 20th in the event, which was won by 44-year-old Peter Senior. |

| This week the PGA Tour donated $50,000 to Driving 4 Life, a Massachusetts-based campaign dedicated to finding a cure for ALS. |
| The disease has stricken two members of the PGA Tour family recently "" former PGA Tour member Jeff Julian and Bruce Edwards, long-time caddie for Tom Watson. |
| A month ago, when Watson was named the Champions Tour (Over 50 years) Player of the Year, he got the Charles Schwaab Trophy and $1 million annuity, and he donated that entire amount to charity with significant portion going to ALS (also known as Lou Gehrig's disease) research. Watson has helped raise almost $3 million for the cause.
