Alok Ind FY09 net up 17% at Rs 196 cr

Textile major, Alok Industries, has clocked a 16.92% increase in its operating net profit at Rs 196.12 crore for FY 09.         

Its net sales grew 36.67 per cent to Rs 2,966.38 crore as against Rs 2,170.41 crore in the year-ago period, a press release issued here today stated.         

Earnings per share (EPS) for FY 09 worked out to Rs 9.99 as compared to Rs 11.40 for the same period of the last fiscal, the release said.         

Export sales were up 0.91% to Rs 1,046.29 crore as against Rs 1,036.88 crore in the year-ago period.         

In Q4 FY 09, the company's net profit stood at Rs 71.19 crore, up 16.76% as compared to the year-ago figure while its net sales grew 25.33% at Rs 908.39 crore.         

The textile major recently completed its rights issue of Rs 450 crore which was subscribed by 118.15%, the release said.
