ArchPro sets up R&D centre

Electronic design automation start-up ArchPro Design Automation has announced its expansion plans with the opening of new R&D centre in Bangalore. ArchPro is headquartered in San Jose, California.
 
The company was formed in March 2004 and has top tier semiconductor customers across the US and Japan. ArchPro is an Intel Capital portfolio company and a member of ARM Connected, Synopsys inSync and Mentor Graphics' VAP programme.
 
ArchPro provides EDA products to meet low-power and multi-voltage design challenges facing 90/65 nanometer system on chip designers.
 
Pratap Reddy, ArchPro chairman and CEO, said: "Power is the most pressing problem facing the IC design industry today. We have engineered cutting-edge power management technology and products out of our Bangalore R&D centre over the past one year. Now, as ArchPro reaches out to customers worldwide, we are expanding our India operation to scale with this growth."
 
Inaugurating the new centre, Puneet Jethalia, managing director of ArchPro India, said: "The new facility can accommodate 75 engineers. We started with a small team to begin with and have grown since. We now plan to grow rapidly in the next 12 months and are building a world-class product development and product engineering and support team to be effective with our customers across the globe."
