Balaji Tele net up 56%

Balaji Telefilms has posted 56.31 per cent rise in net profit for the third quarter ended December 2005 at Rs 14.60 crore as compared with Rs 9.34 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Net sales stood at Rs 70 crore from Rs 51.73 crore last year, up 35.29 per cent. EPS stood at Rs 2.24 compared with Rs 1.81 last year.

Balmer Lawrie net up 21%

Balmer Lawrie & Company has posted net profit of Rs 9.66 crore in the quarter ended December 2005 compared with the previous corresponding figure of Rs 8.01 crore, a rise of 20.59 per cent. Profit before tax grew 47.18 per cent to Rs 17.53 crore from last year's corresponding figure of Rs 11.91 crore.

Birla Corp net up 189%

Birla Corporation, the flagship company of the M P Birla group, reported 189 per cent growth in net profit at Rs 17.22 crore during the third quarter ended December 2005, compared with Rs 5.95 crore in the corresponding period last year.

Net sales during the period went up by 9.41 per cent to Rs 333.60 crore from the corresponding period's Rs 304.90 crore.
