Eicher Motors buys BMC Dewas gear unit

Eicher Engineering components (EEC), the automotive component division of Eicher Motors (EML) has acquired British Motors Car Company's (BMC) Dewas-based (Madhya Pradesh) 5 lac gears p.a. transmission unit.

According to the release issued by Eicher Motors, the company entered into a business purchase agreement with BMC on October 20, 2006 and formally completed the transaction today.
