Electrosteel Castings Ltd (ECL) has recorded a 654.33 per cent rise in net profit (from ordinary activities after tax) for the quarter ended March 31 at Rs 44.43 crore compared to Rs 5.89 crore during the corresponding period last fiscal. The firm's net sales for the quarter, however, saw 1.53 per cent drop at 494.96 crore as against that of previous fiscal.
