GTL bottomline up 25% at Rs 26.32 crore

GTL (formerly Global Telesystems) has posted a 24 per cent rise in net profit after tax and before extraordinary items for the quarter ended December 31, 2003 to Rs 26.32 crore against Rs 21.18 crore for the corresponding period of the previous year.

Income from net sales and services declined by 22 per cent to Rs 109.81 crore (Rs 141.24 crore). Exports declined by 7 per cent to Rs 31.17 crore (Rs 33.55 crore).

On a consolidated basis, GTL's net profit after tax and before extraordinary items rose by 62 per cent to Rs 31.84 crore (Rs 19.68 crore).

Net sales and services declined by 8 per cent to Rs 143.37 crore (Rs 156.76 crore). Exports grew 33 per cent to Rs 65.05 crore (Rs 49 crore).
