Hero group in talks wth global retail chains

Hero Cycles Ltd, part of the Rs 14,000-crore Hero Group, is in talks with supermarket chains Walmart, Promiles and Universal for selling its bicycles from their retail stores.
 
"The company is definitely holding talks with the US-based Walmart, France-based Promiles and UK-based Universal for selling the bicycles through their retail chains," confirmed a senior official who looks after International Marketing in Hero Cycles.
 
Hero Cycles is the country's largest bicycle manufacturer and exports bicycles and components to Africa, Europe, the Middle East and the US countries. Hero Cycles's turnover is about Rs 1,250 crore while its exports stand at Rs 125 crore.
 
The Ludhiana-based 50-year-old-company crossed a landmark milestone by manufacturing its 10th crore bicycle this year.
