Hester ties-up with Nepal's Him Electronics

Ahmedabad-based Hester Biosciences Limited (HBL) has entered into a joint venture agreement with Him Electronics Private Limited (HEPL), Nepal, to set up an animal vaccine manufacturing plant in Nepal, which the company claims to be a first of its kind in the neighbouring country.
The proposed company - Hester Biosciences Nepal Private Limited, will manufacture a range of poultry, sheep, cattle and swine vaccines for the Nepalese as well as for the world market.
The investment for the proposed project would be around Rs15.6 crore. “The investment ratio would be 65:35 (HBL:HEPL). The project is expected to go in production by December 2012. Employment for the project would be fully generated from Nepal,” the company said in a release.
HBL has been in the manufacturing of poultry vaccines since 1997. It has 39 licenced poultry vaccines and markets them within India as well as in Asia, Europe and Africa.
HBL registered a turnover of Nepali Rs37.5 crore in the financial year ended 31 March 2010. The Net Profit before tax was at Rs9.6 crore. HEPL is part of the Golchha Organisation. HEPL has been a leading manufacturer and distributor of electronics durables.
