Ibp In Pact With Kerala Tourism

IBP Co Ltd today signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kerala Tourism, for joint development and promotion of tourism and associated facilities in the state.
As per the MoU signed here today between IBP managing director Arun Jyoti and Kerala tourism secretary T Balakrishnan, the petroleum marketing company has undertaken to set up 20 petroleum retail outlets with multiple associated facilities on sites to be provided by the Kerala Tourism Department. The sites would include locations where Kerala Tourism already operates motels and restaurants as well as new sites where a need is perceived for such an outlet from the fuel point of view. Revealing that each proposed outlet would have a fast food joint, parking space, dormitory for drivers, toilets and convenience stores, Jyoti said his company would invest between Rs 75 lakh and Rs 1.50 crore for developing each such outlet. IBP would be investing around Rs 30 crore this year for this project in the state, he added.
Besides, IBP will sponsor and participate in various tourism festivals and other events organised by Kerala Tourism and assist in developing and maintaining tourist spots that have been jointly identified. Promotional materials for IBP would also carry the logo, brand or message of Kerala Tourism and vice versa, Jyoti said.

IBP would also install tourism information kiosks provided by Kerala Tourism at select outlets across India.
The company currently has over 1,550 petroleum retail outlets across the country, out of which 49 are in Kerala.
