Microsoft to promote local language computing
Product is aimed at bridging the digital divide that allows people to use computers in their mother languages

Microsoft India plans to partner with the nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) working in the technology space to create awareness in the state about its Project Bhasha, an initiative aimed at accelerating local language computing in India.
In an effort to stimulate local language computing and take IT to the masses Microsoft has localised Windows and Office in 14 Indian languages that include Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu.
"We have launched a radio campaign in three cities namely Bhubaneswar, Bhopal and Coimbatore to reach out to the masses about product. We will explore NGOs working in the technology space to spread message about using it", said Meghashyam Karanam, Lead Product Marketing Manager- Office: Consumer and Small Business and Localisation, Microsoft India.
Karanam said that the product is aimed at bridging the digital divide that allows people to use computers in their mother languages.
