MindTree to build training centre by August 2014

The mid-sized IT solution provider MindTree Ltd has assured the state government to open its training centre in the city by August next year.
The IT company had proposed to set up a development centre with a total floor area of 16.5 lakh square feet. The training centre, being planned by the company, will use only 1.5 lakh square feet. It will have infrastructure to train 500 people initially.
"The facility will operate as the central training centre of MindTree and will be opened on August 15, 2014," said a government official. The state IT department, on Monday, reviewed the status of the project. With a total built-up area of 16.5 lakh sq ft, the proposed development centre of the company will have three towers with provision to accommodate about 5,000 IT professionals by 2019, the official added. The recommendation for environment clearance to start work on 15 lakh square feet floor space has been made to the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA). Subroto Bagchi Chairman, MindTree, who attended the meeting today refused to comment on the project. IT department officials said, trenching work has already started at the 20 acre site allocated to MindTree near the info city area. MindTree, co-headquartered in Bangalore and Somerset in New Jersey (US) had signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) in August, 2006.
