New Ventures expects 500 proposals

| Launched in Hyderabad in December last year, New Ventures India, a joint initiative of the conglomerate CII-Godrej Green Business Centre (GBC) and the World Resource Institute (WRI), with support from United States Agency for International Development (USAID), engaged in providing mentoring and technical assistance to entrepreneurs, is expecting 500 business proposals from India in the next cycle. |
| In the first cycle, it received 56 business proposals and shortlisted 10 outstanding companies, out of which two belongs to northern region (one dealing in waste management, especially garbage sector, and the other is in organic farming). |
| It will also hold the First Investor Forum on November 2 and 3, this year, in Mumbai. |
| The Investor Forum will be a platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to showcase their business plans to national and international investors and attract investments for sustainable and responsible business growth. |
| Eminent speakers of international repute will share their ideas and perspectives on innovation for sustainability ,market trends in renewable energy and biodiversity investment, entrepreneurial development in India, investment trends in sustainability, etc. |
| Country Director Suneel Parasnis said: "The vision of CII-Godrej GBC is to make India a leader in green businesses by 2015. Towards realising this vision, a 'Sector-wise Leadership' approach has been adopted." |
