Nittan India opens facility at Sri City

The Rs 150 crore facility will cater to 2-wheeler to start with and will expand

Nittan India Tech Pvt Ltd, the Indian subsidiary of Japanese auto major Nittan Valve Co Ltd, has inaugurated its production unit at Sri City. Set up at a cost of Rs 150 crore, it would initially manufacture valves for two-wheelers.

Hisao Takahashi, President, Nittan Valve declared the plant inaugurated today in presence of Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director, Sri City.

Addressing the gathering, Hisao Takahashi said, India's market is very promising, and this new unit will enable the company to better respond the orders for engine valves from the OEMs operating in India.

Sannareddy said that the Inauguration of Nittan's very first Indian production unit at Sri City, marks a significant milestone in the saga of their development and Nittan India's entry to Sri City was followed by the Japanese auto giant Isuzu and several automotive ancillary industries.

 

The construction work that was carried out by Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Co. and was completed in a short span of about 8 months. While the new plant will cater to two-wheelers, going forward it will also cater to four wheelers, said an official.

Nittan Valve Co, established in 1948 produces engine valves, precision forgings, valve lifters, large diesel engine components and other equipment for a variety of applications including that of automobiles.

With its head office at Kanagawa, Nittan operates three production units in Japan. In response to the demand for its products, Nittan has set up sites in the USA and several countries in Asia, thus building up a global network. It provides the whole world with Nittan Valve products that are highly recognised both at home and abroad.
