No impact on Indian operations

Global consumer goods giant Unilever's decision to pare jobs globally is expected to have a limited impact on its Indian operations, Hindustan Unilever Ltd. Responding to queries whether India will be a part of Unilever's plan to cut 11 per cent of its workforce, a Unilever spokesperson said the company will cut 20,000 jobs over 4 years from disposals and restructuring. A majority of these initiatives will be in Europe, he added.
