| Orient Paper profit jumps 507% |
| Orient Paper & Industries, a part of the GP-CK Birla group, recorded 507 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 130.68 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007. Net sales recorded a 29 per cent growth to Rs 1,097 crore. M L Pachisia, managing director of the company, said while the favourable market conditions helped, a substantial part of the improved performance was achieved through higher productivity and cost efficiencies. |
| "The company is on an accelerated growth path and would emerge even stronger on completion of the expansion projects already in progress," he said. All the three divisions "� paper, cement and fans "� recorded 50 per cent growth in business. |
| Sundaram Pap sales up 22% |
| Sundaram Multi Pap reported 22 per cent increase in net sales at Rs 84.70 crore in the financial year ended March 31, 2007, from Rs 69.33 crore in the same period last year. The net profit jumped 32 per cent to Rs 4.44 crore from Rs 3.37 crore. During the period under review, export revenue of the company went up to Rs 25.50 crore compared with Rs 18 crore in the previous year. |
| During the fourth quarter, net sales of the company went up 19 per cent to Rs 22.57 crore compared with Rs 19.85 crore last year. |
