ProCurve launches new switch

ProCurve Networking, a business unit of HP and supplier of enterprise networking solutions, today launched its new switch in India. ProCurve Switch 8212zl is based on HP's ProVision ASIC technology.

The switch unifies network technology, infrastructure, software operation, management and support while reducing complexity and lowering costs.

The company is targeting education, government, manufacturing, hospitality sectors for driving its growth.

With lifetime warranty and free upgrades, ProCurve aims to capture a sizeable part of the market in the country in the next couple of years, said Amol Mitra, marketing director, ProCurve.

He said the company aims to be the number two networking company in the country by 2011, when the market is expected to touch $560 million from the present $450 million.
