Srusti hosts budget analysis

The city-based Srusti Academy of Management (SAM) organised a seminar entitled 'Budget focus-2008' following the presentaion of the Union budget-2008-09 by the finance minister P Chidambaram.

The former state finance minister Panchanan Kanungo inaugurated the seminar.

Kanungo described the budget as an attempt by the Union finance minister to satisfy the need and aspirations of the large section of the society.

Besides, it will encourage the savings and help in controlling inflation.

P Venugopal Rao, an eminent chartered accountatnt, however, expressed concern over the plan expenditure being 32 percent.

S K Maharana, dean of SAM, spoke on the occasion.
