Tea City launched in Jaipur

Anil Sharma Jaipur
Tea City, the umbrella tea brand of Godfrey Phillips, launched the Super Cup brand of tea in Jaipur today. A motor cavalcade ferrying Tea City packets snaked its way across Jaipur to mark the launch of Tea City.

One of the most popular brands of Tea City, Super Cup is a blend of premium CTC teas of Assam. An exclusive strong tea blend has been specially introduced in Rajasthan.

The company had done research on the consumption preferences of the people in Rajasthan. Tea City currently enjoys an average of 10 per cent market share in about 35 cities in the state.

The subsequent launch of Super Cup in Jaipur is expected to fuel the company's growth in the mid-premium tea segment in India. The Jaipur launch is a significant step in the company's overall plan to take its market share to around 10 per cent in Rajasthan.

Speaking at the launch of Tea City's Super Cup, Inder Singhee, general manager (tea), Godfrey Phillips India, said, "Jaipur is one of the important markets for Tea City in Rajasthan. With the strength of our marketing and retail distribution network, we are confident that we will be able to sustain the current market share we enjoy in select areas of Rajasthan, and achieve a 10 per cent market share for the entire state, while garnering a leadership position in the tea market very soon."

Available in stores from this month, Super Cup will be distributed in Jaipur through a network of around 5,000 retailers and distributors. Super Cup offers the choicest range of CTC teas in various sizes.
