Zandu Pharma to set up unit at Pantnagar

| Zandu Pharma, India's leading pharma company, is setting up a unit at the Pantnagar industrial estate in Uttarakhand with an investment of Rs 25 crore. |
| The plant would produce 50 per cent of Zandu pharma products, officials said. |
| Earlier, there were reports that Zandu might set up its unit at the new Pharma city, which is being also developed by the State Industrial Development Corporation of Uttaranchal Ltd (SIDCUL) near Dehra Dun city with an investment of Rs 175 crore. But later, the company decided to set up its unit at Pantnagar. |
| The new plant at Pant Nagar would start production in April-May this year, the officials said. |
| With the arrival of Zandu Pharma in Pantnagar, the total investment in this key industrial estate has gone up to Rs 6,000 crore, which include major auto companies like Tata Motors and Bajaj. |
| More than 400 companies are setting up their new units at Pantnagar which is being also being developed by SIDCUL. Out of the 400 companies, 35 have already started production. |
| While Tata Motors is investing Rs 1,200 crore at its new unit for producing Ace trucks, Bajaj would invest Rs 500 crore for producing motorbikes. |
| Besides this, Dabur, Britannia and Parle have also set up their units at Pantnagar. |
