TN demands rollback of diesel price
90 paise hike in diesel prices was not unjustified: J Jayalalithaa

Tamil Nadu has demanded rollback of the latest diesel price hike besides suggesting curtailing the powers of oil marketing companies (OMCs) in determining the fuel price.
In a statement, chief minister J Jayalalithaa said at a time when the crude oil prices are coming down in the international market and the OMCs in India are cutting petrol prices twice, the 90 paise hike in diesel prices was not unjustified.
She said the hike in diesel prices would result in inflationary pressures besidesimpact the middle and poor income groups.
