Biz enquiries worth Rs 2000 cr expected at expo

The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) is expecting business enquiries worth Rs 2000 crore at 'EXCON 2007', the annual international exhibition-cum-conference on construction equipment and technologies to be held between November 14 and 18, 2007 at Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC).
 
According to Ajay Puntambekar, Chief Manager (Gujarat), JCB India Limited, one of the participants at the event, CII is expecting at least 55000 delegates, nearly double that of last year.
 
"The idea is to create a sourcing hub and import substitute industry in construction equipment in India," Puntambekar said.
 
EXCON 2007 will feature companies such as Hydrolines, JCB India, Caterpilar, Escorts and Schwing Stetter among 300 confirmed exhibitors. Delegates are also expected from countries like Italy, UK, South Korea, China and Germany.
 
Excon 2007 will feature a 5-day exhibition, a two-day conference, panel discussions and live demos.
