Cong wants delegation to Centre

Former chief minister N Dharam Singh on Tuesday urged chief minister H D Kumaraswamy to lead a delegation to the Centre to settle the Belgaum dispute with Maharashtra.
The Maharashtra legislature on Monday resolved to meet the prime minister to seek the inclusion of Belgaum in that state.
"The onus is now on Karnataka to clarify its stand to the Centre on the matter. It was decided long ago that the Mahajan Committee report on the border row was final. The report said that Belgaum should always remain in Karnataka. This has to be conveyed to the Centre," Singh told reporters here.
He accused the government of laxity towards the border dispute. "We had constituted a special panel headed by legal expert H B Datar to look into the issue. But this government does not seem to be giving much importance to the panel," he added.
