Contraband Seized

Gujarat police seized charas, ganja, opium and brown sugar worth over Rs 12.50 crore and arrested 334 people in 219 cases during 1996, an official release said here yesterday. A constant vigil was being kept to curb the growing menace of drug peddling and smuggling of sophisticated arms from across the border into the state, it said.
