FMECD to treat Southern Bio's project as model project

The Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (FMECD), The Federal Republic of Germany, will treat the biodiesel project at Southern Online Bio Technologies, as a model project to replicate in other countries, a media statement said.
 
A delegation from the government of The Federal Republic of Germany visited Southern Online's biodiesel unit today.
 
The government of Federal Republic of Germany through GTZ had announced a grant of Euro 380,000 to the company's biodiesel project a few months ago.
 
The said grant will be used through Icrisat for research and development in plantation of Jatropha/Pongamia and for providing technology to poor farmers. It will also help unemployed graduates in setting up oil extraction units.
 
Speaking to mediapersons, Karin Kortmann, parliamentary state secretary, government of The Federal Republic of Germany, said that her ministry would treat this project as a model project to be replicated in other countries.
