Ford India Rolls Out Nxt Variant

Ford India today launched their Ford Ikon Nxt variant in the Hyderabad market through Sundaram Motors.
Unveiling the Ikon Nxt model, Ford India vice-president (external affairs) Vinay K Piparsania said the new model offers a greately enhanced driving experience with the introduction of the new 1.3 Rocam engine. It has a new exterior styling cues, interior refinements and contemporary looks.
Piparsania said the Ford Ikon, launched first in November 1999, leads the mid-size segment in the Indian automobile industry with over 1 lakh units on the roads.

He said in the calender year 2001, Ford India sold 15,000 Ikon cars in the domestic market and exported, mainly to China, Maxico and Brazil, another 28,000 Ikon cars.
This year, with the introduction of the Nxt model, they planned to sell 22,000 units in the domestic market The new model is fitted with the engines manufactured by Hindustan Motors at their Pitampura plant.
